I received a 2nd new magwell, and upgraded one this time and it has been flawless! No issues with any mag I have throw in it. Customer service was excellent, I told them I had a prs match I was shooting in a week and need the problem fixed and had my new part by the Friday before the match. Very happy overall now that the problem i was having is repaired.

There are tolerance issues with the AI branded mags. They come from two or more manufacturing facilities and can have variance on the mag catch height. Due to this, sometimes the mag will sit to low in chassis systems. Cadex does not have replacement mag latches to fix this. MDT offers different length mag latches to adapt to out of spec magazines. The easiest fix is to use the Accurate branded mags. They are way more consistent, but sometimes require some feed lip adjustment.
They never gave a spec for the play, my issue was that the magwell was slightly to long and the front of my mag would fall down just enough that the bullet tip would be under the feed ramp. Mine has some up/down play but it has no effect on feeding now. The ai mag fits the tightest, accurate mags are pretty sloppy side to side, I have the plastic mdt mag and magpul pmags and I have no more issues with any of them. For the price the pmags have been working awesome
Interesting thread - pleased to see that Chalky got problem resolved. When I had my Cadex chassis I nearly always single fed as COAL was outside mag length but I never saw a problem when I did mag feed but I wonder why this isn't an issue in (for example) McMillan stocks ? Perhaps someone with a better grasp of geometry or engineering can explain.
Depends on which bottom metal you use and how well it is fitted to the stock.
I had the mag falling out after the first shot of my ATRS 700. Took it in and I think they just took a little off the top of the mag catch, very easy and 100% reliable feeding since then. A5 stock and ATRS bottom metal.
I also have a MDT 223 mag that will always jam up on the 3rd to last round, it nose-dives and the follower tilts like crazy. A5 stock and Stiller bottom metal. I believe MDT is coming out with gen 2 magazines soon.

Yeah, it worked great. So great I was no longer able to laugh at your struggles. I was picking on the newbies short cycling their Savage 10 TR bolts and then closing on an empty chamber. Imagine their surprise when the hammer went "click" at the next target exposure....
My response was, 'Buy a Norinco!'
Just stick to Magpul AICS 10 rounders now....

I received the new style magwell from Cadex and a free T shirt ! After adjusting my feed lips on my AI mags back to aprox factory specs I cycled a few full mags through it and it worked fine.
I used it over the weekend and all my mags worked great . Big thanks goes out to Patrice and to Cadex for their great comms and customer support.

AICS were the alpha and omega for mags for some time. I guess the reign is over.
