milsurp alert!! - check this out!

Who said only 50 imported? There will probably be more imported if avalaible in the next few months considering how fast it went. They probably had more than ''50'' in the warehouse....

I'm not going to be selling, but wait for it. There are under 50 in Canada and LOTS of mosin collectors. Supply and demand, I think my prediction isn't far off.

I'm surprised Tradex didn't list them higher, they sold out in under 24 hours at $900 plus tax - though I'm glad they didn't.

I'm not sure what these turds will bring, but to a serious Mosin collector who has to have everything, I can see they will have value. That being said, I'm not sure I like the idea of a made up model name for non production guns and re-sale projections etc. Heck we've already got the greedy flippers selling "91/43",s ....its kinda comical.

Apparently worth $1500 in just a few days, so ride the hype some are trying to create and these will be a retirement fund in a month... Some people I tells ya.

Cross your fingers then. And we know the total for this import, it's not a secret.

Are you actually surprised? I mean really?

I seriously wonder about members here and the lack of a general grasp on macro-economics, supply/demand, etc.

Wishing that something were a sub-$500 non-collectible "turd" does not make it so.

Truth be told, I HATE the SVT40 and yet as soon as Lever Arms sold their last one at $350, they all jumped to $600 on the EE and are actually selling at that price. It makes sense, even if I have no interest in that model.

.

Claven- in the wacky world of collecting normal entry level "economics" don't really work well. There are many who have honest collecting goals and aren't in it to make a few bucks (ie HOBBY). If demand for nice Russky stuff is so high how the heck was I able to buy all -original, matching 91/30's in the last couple of years for $500.00? I think supply may be low but demand may not be quite as large as some are hoping. As the dust settles on this recent import of 91/30's with folding bayonets it may well be that many are, at best, light refurbs and flipping them for big bucks may be tough. I bought one of the tradex guns and I like it a lot but all original it aint. Best Mosins dumped into the market in a long time and it will be interesting to see where the market for them settles out.

Total imported was 90 units. P&S scored some and the rest went into private hands. All were gone in a day. P&S still has a couple for sale as I write these lines...

Hey Milsurpo I think you got a deal at $500. If you put a 1 in front of the price of that all original matching 91/30 it would probably sell

Mouser: I have had offers of that magnitude but they are the "keepers" in my little collection. My point was that when I bought them they were advertised on the EE and there was no stampede to grab them. They were both made at a leisurely pace with lots of discussion with the seller and no apparent competition.

There are only a handful of serious Russian rifle collectors in Canada. As far as the Mosin goes there are probably so few you could count them on your fingers.

Supply is thin in Canada for sure but demand is quite low. The supply of these may already be above demand and after a few months of inflation the price may plummet.

This is the first time such a quantity of original matching light refurbs have arrived on the market. There are more of these than there are all other original matching Russian Mosins combined in Canada.

I bought this to add to my collection of weird/unique firearms rather than being a dedicated Mosin or Russian collector. It's just a unique piece with an interesting back story.

That being said I would trade it for C No 7 or Garand (plus cash) if there was an opportunity to.
