Jericho Parts Interchangability

I'm strongly considering buying a Jericho 941. Held one at the local store and it seems like a great gun for the price. I like that it has a de-cocker similar to my old 92FS. I found the DA trigger to be quite heavy but the SA trigger broke fairly well.

So the question is, does anyone know about interchangeability between CZ, Tanfoglio etc. parts? I know most magazines will work with a bit of help. I'm interested in things like triggers, sears, hammers, springs, barrel, slide stop etc... I believe the grips are a no go allready. It's fine if the parts need a little gunsmithing to fit.

Hopefully this hasn't been asked a lot. I just want to know what I'm getting into before I drop the coin.

Grips are actually not hard to find if you Google it. Zahal has tons of accessories. I think for parts I'd contact iwi. There is warranty on them.

I have one, I just put hogue grips on and staked the trigger pin as it had a tendency to work loose, otherwise it's a very shootable pistol. I guess I'm saying if you want a race gun, then go for a CZ, this is more of a domestic shooter, I don't think I'd spend a lot on it over the initial price.

(that said I did get an sbr chassis for mine...quite the tack driver set up like that).

They are a no frills military pistol built like a tank

The mags are interchangeable with CZ mags other than one way the latch doesn't quite work. I don't recall which latches in which gun. But it's a VERY close thing because the one which does latch does not have very much play compared to the "proper" mag for that gun. And it shot in the "wrong" gun just fine. In fact I seem to recall that the other two and I simply held the mag in place on the combo which didn't latch and that combo shot fine as well. So likely a slight enlarging of the notch in the mag will do the trick. And by "slight" I'm talking moving the offending side of the opening by perhaps the thickness of a business card.

I would not rely on the rest of the internals being a matchup. The decocker in the slide right off the bat means that while the overall design might be related to the CZ it's not a direct clone. So some parts might interchange and others not.

The Jericho also has a full length dust cover. But does not have the rail as seen on the older Shadow. So don't count on the Shadow holsters fitting the Jericho really well either. It'll fit but is likely to be somewhat wobbly.

One thing for sure, it IS a nice gun. It was high on my own first gun list. But I knew I'd go into IPSC so I paid a little more for my Shadow so I could be sure of finding all the associated bits and pieces without any troubles.

You're saying the shadow is tougher?

Where did you read that?

The Shadow isn't "tougher", it's simply a much better handgun.

I guess I don't get the whole "built like a tank" thing. Do you plan on using your handguns as a hammer? Personally, I wouldn't prioritize things like "no frills" or "built like a tank" when considering a handgun but to each their own!

I just was not certain what you meant, I do now.
They both have excellent reviews

I don't own a polymer gun, but I own a jericho and a few 1911's. I far prefer "built like a tank" to "light enough to fit in your purse!" ;)

That said, the shadow is a really nice pistol, but when I got my jericho, it was $599 for the gun, 3 mags and "rage kit". I got the jericho and an SVT-40 that day for the same price they were selling the CZ's for :)

value for money, Jericho is a winner.

Also I hear the accuracy is same or better than a CZ, polygonal rifling on the 941's barrel maybe makes some difference ...

I have both and the shadow is a nicer pistol overall but the Jericho is still a very good pistol, the round count on mine is some where over 40000 without any broken parts. The Jericho double action pull is heavier than the shadow but the single action is close to identical,I tried a cz 13lb main spring to lighten it up but was plagued by light primer strikes.
