With all the nonsense lately, what would your top picks be for a rifle that is least likely to become reclassified in the near future.

Lots of battle of the black rifle threads, similar idea open to any rifle that you think is "safe"(-ish) for now from random changes of the RCMPs opinion, as well a what you think might survive an OIC or law rewrite (assuming not a blanket ban). I know you're not oracle's so this is going to largely be opinion based.

To make it fun: pictures, price, opinion and experience with the rifle is welcomed. Why you think is "safe" for now. Entries can be both restricted and non restricted as it stands now.

P.s. I'm not actively looking to buy, I just thought this would be a good thread to catalog what's out there for those looking to buy something with confidence.

I'd guess, based on the "OMG it looks sooo scary it must be illegal" criteria, the Tavor will be the first to go. And I'd guess, though it might seem contradictory, the FN FS-2000 would be the safest of the current bunch.

I mean really, what's not cuter than a big guppy?

Strength in numbers. Ar safeish. I think the FS-2000 would be an easy target.

Ghamil Gharbi's go-to? Are you kidding me?!?

OP: They're all on the block... If we let one go, we're done. Objects don't do evil; people do. Bad guys now use trucks... are we going to ban U-Haul?
Nope. Not kidding. The mini 14 has been a part of a few tragedies... even responsible for the development of a couple cartridges as a result.
There's also a lot of them in Canada. They don't look terribly menacing... definitely no AR with carry handles, flash suppressor, barrel shroud, and shoulder thing that goes up. It comes dressed down with a five round mag and looks like a "duck" gun.

You better hope there isn't another round...trying to predict how that will go is impossible, but I can assure you it wouldn't be good. Last time the only thing present in any numbers with a pistol grip that survived was the AR-15, and that was made restricted.

I think they will go for an update to the Prohibited list...

Via the stacked Firearms Advisory Committee under the 'premise' of Public Safety...

Which then allows the current fed gov the ability to point at the Committee & say:

"Not our fault, it was the recommendation of the Committee...!!!"

Sigh

Very dangerous thinking here as anyone trolling this thread from govt could get the impression that we are expecting additional action - including prohibition - of any black rifle. Not good...

A semi-auto firearm is a semi-auto firearm. They are used safely and responsibly every day by properly licensed and trained owners every day. We all know that prohibitions do not reduce criminal behavior which is, by definition, criminal.

Like others have said all semi autos are basically in the same place to be banned.

But if they decide to target guns by name I think the AR 15, tavor, VZ58 and swiss arms would be the first to go. Safest semi auto would be a M14 action or a tacticool sks.

the last guns to be banned would be the bolt action rifle and shotguns. Not lever actions though. Australia lost theirs.

Just my opinions of course

There isn't really a least likely to be prohib black rifle as they all are on the chopping block. So they are all pretty much equal that way. However if there is a most likely to be prohib next list, it would be the AR15, CZ858 and the Tavor.

lol. not a single one is safe. unless that black rifle looks exactly like this
