Black rifle least likely to be prohibited?

I'd hate to be Mike in Canmore when that day comes!

Seriously though, let's stop with this fearmongering. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. Anything the Liberals do we will fight to have repealed. Maybe that's all it will take to finally unite us.

sheesh!!really---ok when and if they prohibit sports cars cause they go too fast--will the corvette be the first to go?or the viper?or the Ferrari?come on this topic has been on a beat down forever----you think the tavor will go first?hmm maybe not due to financial ties to Israel Canada might not want to rock the boat---vz58--hmm maybe Canada doesn't want to rock the boat with a eu country---maybe a monkey living in my hoop will jump out with an ar15----God shut this down--barf

They made a mistake with the Swiss rifle remember. The guy who gave the go-ahead to ban them were told only the number of restricted ones.
swiss had low numbers in country compared to the 858.

there is also an anti government in power now that is fully supporting the rcmp unlike before

Like others have said all semi autos are basically in the same place to be banned.

But if they decide to target guns by name I think the AR 15, tavor, VZ58 and swiss arms would be the first to go. Safest semi auto would be a M14 action or a tacticool sks.

the last guns to be banned would be the bolt action rifle and shotguns. Not lever actions though. Australia lost theirs.

Just my opinions of course

In Australia you can own a lever action it is a category A firearm rimfire and B for centrefire. The Adler had restricted importation and that issue is still ongoing.

Instead of worrying about what might be banned we all have a duty to introduce new people to our circle. Strength in numbers is the name of the game.

I would probably go for a X95/Tavor because it's from Israel and you know why? go figure !
Why 95% of european firearms are prohibed in Canada? even in .22LR, if Karl Marx were alive today, I would ask him , he is the main key of many answers for these modern days.

The next major push by the RCMP, in all likelihood, will be against all semi-automatic rifles possessing named "military-style" characteristics that will see them reclassified as prohibited. I don’t see anything escaping the ban hammer unless gun owners pull their head out of their collective anus and make any such attempt prohibitively expensive for their political masters.

Yup. Lever actions are widely available in Australia. I recall when the Australian legislation was implemented 20 years ago it was nearly impossible to find a pistol-calibre lever action rifle in North America because the available rifles were being shipped to Australia where they were in very high demand.

The Adler issue is the result of a "loophole." The Aussie legislation puts pump shotguns into Category C (five round magazine or less) and Category D (more than five round magazine capacity) but because the Adler is lever action it fell into the lower categories even though it had a more than 5 round magazine capacity.

If people stop buying certain guns because they think the RCMP will ban them, then the RCMP doesn't have to ban anything. They've won, or we've lost - depending on how you want to look at it. I honestly don't think they'll ban any guns next time, I think the Libs will stop issuing restricted licenses, and continue to renew the ones out there. It fits their pattern, and it's less likely to cause a major fuss. Hunters won't scream or protest about guns that "nobody needs", so pistol and black rifle owners will be left in the cold. Maybe we'll see another sterling performance by OFAH, and the rest of the crowd of organizations, saying things like "it doesn't affect current owners, so it's OK" groups who believe to can't happen to them, until it's too late. The reality is that it's a matter of time, for all guns, if we let it be.

I've been saying this for a while now.

Thanks for that I hadn't been following the Adler issue closely. I just wanted to correct this misconception that lever actions are banned in Australia. I think people might have presumed from the Adler issue.

The one rumor I heard was that lever shotguns with a magazine capacity of more than five were the ones under the official microscope.
Hence the older lever Winchesters shotguns and Winchester copies were not mentioned in the 'ban'

maybe

A friend of mine who works for the federal liberal party, keeps telling me that they are seriously looking at ammunition and ammunition components restrictions, both for importation and domestic sales, The theory being if you can not control the firearm , then focus on the number one thing they need.

It s too late to ban anything. Why ? Very simple, I have nothing !279618.giflol_smi2.gificon_chi.gif279618.gif
