Hoping I can get an idea of a fair price tag for this piece. Husqvarna FFV .308. Shows signs of use/hunting. Quite a lot of finish wear on the wood but no cracks. Small chip in the toe. bluing on action nice. some freckling on the barrel blueing. Broken and poorly repaired magazine follower spring, but functions. Rifling looks strong and bright but there is definitely some rust pitting. I tried to get some decent photos of the rifling.

Thanks very much in advance.

Jonathan

$400 for the mauser action. Too much supercicial stuff wrong. Plus the end of the barrel looks like shyt. Might need a 1-2" chop. If you see rust on the outside of a gun in spots that are easy to reach and oil.....what does it look like in the hard to get at spots. Probably full of rust under action and in barrel channel.

Looks like a neglected unit to me....too bad, these are good rifles. Definitely needs the barrel cut back and re-crowned.
$400.00 would be a generous offer, IMHO. D.

Depends on your wants. That Carl Gustaf action is very desirable for a build. The action alone would be worth $400.

With a $400 investment, it would be a nice start to a semi custom. I could see that as a 358Winchester.

There is only one action, but it's set fror three lenght, Short, 2.40" magazine, 3.53" bolt travel, Medium 2.3" magazine, 4.0" bolt travel and Long 3.4" magazine, 4.44" bolt travel.

BTW, the magazine spring is easy to replace.

So baribal could you take that 308 and rebarrel to 7mm mag or 338 win mag? And then get the associated parts (mag, different floor plate, etc)?

There is rust pitting throughout the barrel; unfortunately chopping an inch or two off the end would probably not be worth the effort. I have not shot it to see how it shoots as is yet. Even if it shoots well I would have a hard time accepting the bore as is and being happy with it. It certainly crossed my mind to get it rebored to .358, but I would be looking for a smaller lighter platform for one if I ever go that route. Rebarreling it with another Husqvarna barrel might be the best route?

Again, thanks for the insight everyone!

Given the condition of the overall rifle, it might be worth $300.00. Maybe.

As for rebarreling or customizing, why bother. It's not as though it's even a Mauser action.

Lol, I would pay 300$ for it no problem. It's one of the best actions ever built. Bar none. I've been looking for one to build a 21" barrelled 375 Ruger for a while.

If you want to go through a lot of headstorming and machining / parts research, Well, yes... But I'd personnaly would start with 308 lenght cartridge....

I understand your concern but I would still shoot it. Maybe recrown and bluing if it shoots

As throttle_monkey said - I'm in if it's going for 300$
