Hi guys, just wonder if you have seen this.
Yesterday in the middle of the testing, the device started to have issue catching the bullet streams. Also hung when I tried to delete shots from recorded series(shots gone after reboot). Then when I took it off base, immediately I heard sounds inside, as if a circuit board felt off at the top and a screw was rolling.

Good thing is that it's still under warranty(3 months old). Just curious if any labradar owner saw this before? I did some research before buying and never saw this issue. I am only shooting 308, so it can't be that bad recoil/shockwave.

Thanks

yes. I do have muzzle brake, but it has been like that for more than months. I put the radar in the padded bag I bought from the official labradar site. so if that's not enough protection, it would be the manufacturer's problem too. guess I am the unlucky one. :(

Muzzle braked? how is it transported? used one for a little while and it was always transported in a egg cartoon foam padded case. Never bumped around. It could be sensitive to bumps and knocks.

I have one of the first that came out been a couple years now, same factory soft case have shot hundreds of muzzled 338 edges rounds along with countless other boomers never had a problem some times will not measure do to blast have to move back and away. After that good to go.

The issue has been confirmed by vendor as manufacturer defect and is on its way for RMA.

I got email this morning from US with RMA form. When asking for shipping label, I was referred to talk to Canadian Warranty Centre in Quebec. At first, I was told it's split shipping between customer and vendor, I was ok with that as I really like it and need it back quick for my testing. Then after I described the issue(the board fell off all that) and asked if they have ever seen this, they said it's a known issue and they had a few cases like this. They will repair it AND refund my shipping cost! Great service and glad to know I didn't do anything wrong. Can't wait to get the replacement back as I can't go to range without it these days.

I had my unit cracking around the rear surround. I ended up paying for shipping it in, and they paid to ship it back FedEx air. They had it for less than 2 days. They got it on a Tuesday, by Friday I had it I. My hands.

As a Labradar owner, this known issue/failure mode makes me nervous. Is there a recall or has anyone sent a working unit back for a proactive fix (which is tempting for me to do at the end of the outdoor shooting season)?

Just received replacement unit. Can't tell for sure if it's repaired or they sent me a brand new unit because both serial number(same as before) and warranty seal are just stickers.
Just like they said, they did the repair and shipped it back on the same day so that I don't miss this weekend for my tests. awesome!

just hope it's not that fragile. after all it's a $1000 equipement. I now put it in the factory foam bag and bubble wrap, and then in the padded bag I bought from them as extra protection. Fingers crossed.

I guess that's a relif. :)

That's true.

I was going to get one when they were first announced. They kept putting off the release date, and the estimated price was about $500 Cdn. Next thing it was $550 USD. They will not get a dime out of me when they pull a stunt like that. Designed and made in Canada.

Get a Magnetospeed. Yes, there is some POI shift (down) with it mounted on thinner barrels, but group sizes are unchanged, which is the key. Very simple, RELIABLE, easy to use and accurate/consistent. Also considerably cheaper, with far less to go wrong than with the Labradar. YMMV....

You seem to forget that their ONLY dealer/distributor was American. Obviously the American Distributor was advertising in USD.

Pretty sure all dealer in Canada has purchased from USA distributor. As when I got warranty support from Hirsch precision, he had forwarded me a reply from the US distributor (who I and spoken with before I purchased from Hirsch.

What he said!
Just retired my less than reliable Shooting Chrony Gamma and bought a Magnetospeed V3. Hasnt missed a shot so far.
And the command menu display is foolproof.
Recoil makes it want to slip towards the muzzle, so I learned to just double check its position before each shot.
No interference from the guy beside me ( saw this happening to a guy w Labradar). No more sunlight, cloudy, rain interference like on the Gamma. No more asking everyone for a ceasefire so I could adjust the Gamma position 10 feet downrange. I havent noticed any change in group size. If Poi has dropped it is very slight at 100yds. But this isnt an issue as once I find the desired load speed, I can take it off and dial the scope as needed.

Mine cracked in all 4 corners on the downrange side...really weird, like the it was expanding outward or something. I think the replacement was a completely new unit since it had a new screen protector on it. Hope it is not a recurring problem with only a one year warranty. Other then that it has been flawless. I too transport in bubble wrap in a padded lap top case lol.

My unit was the same, as I had checked the serial against my records. #1043 lol
