Would a thread protector be considered ITAR ? I don't feel like paying 40$ + tx and shipping when I can buy the same for 9.99$ + free shipping.

Thank you for the answers

Looking for a M13.5 X 1 LH for a Glock 19 barrel if someone has one.

The $10 TP are Chinese copies of the US ones........if you care.

Got one from Xtrem Precision LLC and another from Infinite Product Solution. Both made is USA and one is already in my mailbox.

This just arrived at home:

Total cost was 17$ CAN vs 40$ + tax and shipping. I installed a rubber o-ring on it, its not going anywhere now !

Looks good DT741, checked out Infinite Product Solutions website as you mentioned in a previous post. Just placed an order for 2 of the notched ones. Hope shipping doesn't take too long.

Its quicker than shipping with CP.

My thread protector arrived today and was shipped on June 28th. It entered custom on the 30th and it is still there according to USPS website. Considering it was a long weekend, that was fast !! And it left from LA

I find that they do tend to back off as a consequence of recoil. You need to re-check the tightness - carefully, without muzzling yourself - every 100 rounds or so.

Good to know, I'll keep an eye on it.

The "thread" on the plastic one melted after 3-4 magazines thru the pistol and couldnt be retightened.

^ This.

I never shoot with it on as they have a tendancy to back off. It just goes on when going back in the box/safe to prevent the dings.

No real "appeal"

This is what my Glock 19 came with. Glock OEM threaded barrel. Shoots good enough for me and I dont really want to spent 200-300$ on a replacement barrel.

Some people put compensators on their threaded barrel
