1937 P series vz-24

Pick up this "well used" vz-24 in a group of rifles a little while ago and finally dug it out today to snap some shots.

Kinda neat to see a non refurbished vz24 as most have been re done. This one I'm guessing has been to China, serial is in the 30,### range and I'm guessing it's not a Japanese navy gun.

anyhow here's some pics of the old girl.



Anyone see that mark on th3 buttstock before? I also find it interesting that this rifle has no proof marks or acceptance marks. Never seen a rifle like that.

In the book on Mausers by Ball its a contract stamp for China.

Ah thank you very much.

I assumed China as I knew the P series was Chinese or Japanese and the serial on this rifle isn't in the range for a Japanese naval rifle.

Great to put an end to my searching.

I picked up this rifle so I could do a comparison between my original uncut m95/24 and a correct vz24. The 2 are so similar side by side.
