What a shame. It won't even fit back in the gun case any more.

Its kind of strange though, I have noticed the odd person at the range that just about craps a brick when they see me looking down the muzzle before I put my rifle on the bench. I've had a couple comments like 'WTF' and 'what the hell are you doing!' . I guess Darwin's theory is in good stead...

that reminds me of a buggs bunny cartoon, buggs bunny puts his finger in elmer fudd"s shotgun fudd then pulls the trigger and the barrel peels like banana. he could bend the barrel back, put some hose clamps on it and try to sell it on ebay.

He woudln't need clamps. Those pictures are so circualted and popular (especially because they aired on a mythbusters episode) that he could make well over the original price.

They tried that on Mythbusters, Blew the fingers off.

And I bet there were lots of witnesses too. Another of lifes lessons learned the hard way. Be a good one to hang up at the lodge. The dude is lucky though-to have lived through it! Damn, that could so easily go the wrong way or worse yet cripple or kill someone else.
