Was given a box of 500 78gr bullets sized to. 313 and have a couple enfields that typicaly like. 313 cast.. My problem is never used a cast bullet this light and plain based 25bhn want to push them 1200fps, powders I have for loads like this are 231, unique and trailboss, was doing some research and ppl say around 7gr of 231 would be a good starting point.. Would just like some input

Well 4gr of Unique with a 90gr cast makes 900fps in The Ken Waters Pet Loads book for gallery loads. That one would be safe and a little faster with the lighter bullet.Data for the 30-40 Krag should be interchangeable for the cast + Unique.Here's data for a the .303 British with a 80gr jacketed using Unique 12gr -2000fps [MAX16.4gr for 2460fps] Just for info purposes.You should be able to bump up from the 4gr load and chrony it as you increase the powder charge to either your desired velocity or where accuracy is best.....Harold
