I changed out the stock sights on my Glock 34 a few months ago to some of the Wilson Combat/Vickers sights. I used some blue loctite on the front sight, but yesterday noticed that I appear to have shot it loose. What are the thread locker recommendations from some of the folks around here? Just be more liberal with my use of blue threadlocker, or use something else entirely?

I don't know of why you are using Loctite on a sight, but anything else (red or Rockset) will be permanent... as in a total bastitch to ever remove again. I had the misfortune of trying to help a friend get red locktite off of a MBUIS someone put on. It took some gentile torch work to get it off.

Hopefully someone who knows better than I can help with the specific issue.

The Glock front sights thread in with a very fine thread screw. If you install it "snug" it'll shoot loose, I strongly suspect using very much gusto would sheer the screw.

Blue lock tite is what you need.
Put a drop on a piece of paper and with a small tool such as a small allen key pick up a bit off the paper and put it on the threads and in the hole.

If you ever need to remove it, blue will come off easily. If you use red, you will need a torch, a little bit of heat will melt the lock tite.

Do not use red, it is not necessary.

Blue, preferably 243 which is oil tolerant. You porbably used 242 and your gun oil eventually broke it down. You don't want, or need, to apply very much. Just streak one side of the screw and make sure you allow 24 hours for it to cure properly.

Blue loctite for me. Wipe down the threads on the little screw and sight with some isopropyl alcohol to remove any grease/oils before screwing it on.

I like Locktite 290, it works on assembled parts.

Always apply the thread-locker to the screw, never to the hole.
