Norc m305 question

Are there any M14 gurus in the Calgary area ?

Theres a guy that goes around and does these clinics for those who want to learn the ins and outs of the m305 and to fix the issues that they have. He might be hosting a clinic in Calgary someday soon? I think it was tactical teacher that is doing the clinics. might want to check with him and see

Myself and two buddies all bought a Norinco M305 in 2014 for $400.00 each, but they are all junk and came from one of the site retailers. All three orders with the 18.5" barrel, all three the front site is over rotated by 10 to 15 degrees, one the bolt was incredibly tight to the point where you need two hands to operate it, the other two the bolts where fine. We tried to get the retailer to fix the front sight issue but they did not want to even look at them, but they did take back the heavy bolt POS and replaced it with a better M305. Where the front sight is only slightly over rotated. The other two we took to a local gunsmith, he want nothing to do with them, his only advice was to cut the sight off the weld it on straight, and clean up the barrel as best possible, but he would not do it. We used a pipe wrench to twist he barrel back into straight, but this marked them up pretty bad, they shoot (I am honestly afraid of firing it, keep thinking it will blowup in my face) but are not pretty to look at. I never use mine. My first and last Norinco product. Buy junk get junk.

You are right, buy junk, get junk, but there's enough guys on this site who have the knowledge and ability to make these junkers sing!

The issues you had/have aren't out of the ordinary and easily fixed with the right tools.

Next time reach out to your fellow gunnutters, some charge, some trade and some take bribes, either way we could have helped you out!!

Ps. If you already shot it and it hasn't blown up in your face, you're good to go.
