What to top my new rifle with

So I just recently ordered a Rem 700 Long Range in 25-06. Never owed a 25-06 so its something new to play with, what should I top it with for glass. Any recommendations?

I recently picked up the same rifle as you but in 7mm Rem Mag and I am thinking about using my Bushnell 3-12x44 LRHS on it for glass. I think this scope will allow me shoot out at as far a range as I realistically need to be hunting at. Looking forward to getting it set up!
 
I have a 700 sendero sfii in 300 win mag that I topped with a vortex viper 6.5-20x50. This is my long range hunting rifle. Was thinking something like a 4-12 but I like the sound of the 2.5-10 love the vortex scope just heavy especially on a sendero. Will check out the Bushnell elite series
 
A fixed 4x works well for most situations. Simpler, cheaper, usually tougher and lighter....and when hunting you often dont have the luxury of twiddling your dials when you see game anyway. While there is nothing wrong with a good variable for hunting...the same can be said for a fixed 4x for most situations.
 
Why not try a Leupold VXR in a 3-9X40mm.
good range of power and of course the 30mm tube for lots of light transmission.
$$pendy though and the rings will cost more than regular 1 inch rings.
I have yet to try the scope and am looking for reviews ;)
Dont forget to show some pictures of the Sendero out in the wilds of Canadian Gun Nutters too !

Have one spot on private land hills and fields. From top of one hill to the other is an open 2000 yards. The owner has 3500 acres (dads step dad is the owner) and have access to the entire parcel. When I say long range in ns I guess I'm talking withing 500 for a comfortable shot.

Fantastic scope I have the 3-12 and the 4.5-18.
Would recommend the LRHS as well.
