Which brands/lines of 22lr do you avoid buying?

I had/have issues with remmington golden bucket. Lots of miss fires. Too many to trust them.
Anything that has Winchester printed or stamped on it has been fantastic for me. Including the wildcat 22lr ammo. Actually this applies to all of their products I have bought
Last time I bought the cheapest federal 22 ammo however was terrible. It jammed constantly and had more empty casings in the box than any other brand. Accuracy was just as good as Winchester if not a little worse but it close enough

Last year I bought a brick of Blazers in the 50 round box configuration. At the time I had two bolt actions, and two levers that were/are perfectly reliable. Out of all of these rifles the Blazers had at least 2-3 duds per 50 round box. Never again. I've gone through bulk packs of Winchester and federal with sometimes zero ftf.
I stay away from anything Winchester! I have had good luck with Federal auto match and blue box 525 for semi auto pistol and rifles. Federal champion seems to work well. Of course the better (SK etc) stuff is great and is saved for real shooting not clays on the berm at the range which the aforementioned are great at and at a reasonable cost.
I find that cost is not always the indicator of quality that one would expect. I love sales and stock up and that makes a difference

this whole tread is completely unrealistic of real world conditions,nobody knows what the rounds are fired from,which makes all the difference in function and accuracy of different ammo,i keep hearing these claims of Remington Thunderbolts and Winchester bulk being such bad ammo and unaccurate,yet out of one of my Mossberg 144LSB's,i get 1/2" groups all day long at 50 yards.i run Mini Mags through it and groups open to 1 1/2",so certain will work great in some,and bad in others,can't judge the ammo that easily,way to many factors involved,but if you want to NEVER have misfires,get yourself a Gevarms E1 riffle,those things always fire off,shoot from an open bolt too,which is pretty cool.

Amen to that. The only bulk ammo I shoot is Federal, and it seems to work great. Very fine fouling left behind means I can get LOTS of rounds downrange before any of my guns need a tear down and cleaning. I'm not spendy enough to buy CCI, but I do buy their 710fps quiets for use in my rolling block, they work great. Eley and such are always fantastic. For reference I shoot: Ruger MKII KMK678, Anschutz 64, BL-22, No. 2 Rolling Block, Cooey Model 60, Britarms MK 2000 and a basic 10/22.
I have had good results with it in a variety of guns. I would not hesitate to pick some up if the price is right.
Federal 525 round bulk packs are my current favourite for lower-priced .22 ammo.
Remington Chunderbolts are what I would consider the worst ammo on the market. The lead fouling they create in my S&W K-22 will cause keyholing after about a box or so.

S&B .22 is truly awful. Had FTFs in everything we tried it.in including a bolt action. Seems like the rim was a bit too thick.

What do you guys think about Aguila Standard Velocity (1130fps)? I found some locally reduced to just under $5/50rds.
Seems like most places are either sold out of Aguila with no more coming in, or are dropping it. Not just here, but in the states too. Anyone know if it's still being made?

I have had very bad luck with Thunderbolts in a variety of rifles and handguns. Perhaps it was a bad brick, but QC is poor and they are too tight in almost all chambers, especially the K22. Win 333 and Wildcat work alright for me and CCI minimags get the nod in my semi autos.
I find Remington thunderbolts to be excellent in my rifles. I seem to be the odd one out. Good accuracy, excellent reliability in my marlin semi, its an old marlin 89c. Always cycles even after 500 rds without cleaning. I've tried a bunch of different ammo that couldn't cycle this rifle worth a darn.
Conversely, the worst ammo I've ever tried is Remington golden bullets. Very dirty, groups expanded from .75-1.25" at 50y to 2-3" from the same rifle. Many failures to cycle the action enough to grab the next round from the mag.
