I would sell all of my guns to be able to buy a Para FAL with an 11" barrel. I have considered buying a deactivated FAL just to be able to swap/cut a barrel and just have it, even if I couldn't shoot it.

I'm a little confused with the 12(x) classification other than 12(6) and 12(7).
Does a Tommy gun, Uzi, BAR, HK 93, AUG, AK or MP5 fit 12(3)?
And I'm a little confused to, aren't all of those guns basically safe queens and cant be taken anywhere to be shot?

If manufactured as a semi-auto, the Uzi and AUG are 12(4), while the others you name are 12(5).
The OP is looking for 12(3), which is any gun manufactured with full-auto capability, but later modified to semi-auto only.
they require a SAP, and the law specifically says that SAP cannot be issued for the purposes of shooting, so the guns are legally safe queens that cannot be shot.
Everything. FALs, G3s AK, FNCs HK91s, UZIs, stupid pistols with 3" barrels and silly small bullets, guns that might have been able to go auto once but no longer; everything.
And of course find all the flaws and reasons they aren't common use firearms any more, but I'd buy them all if I could.

Cool! Do M-16s fall into this category? Not being sure what was imported or legal before this 12(X) nonsense, I would suggest a STG-44, a MP-40, Grease gun, BAR to add to your collection. For more modern guns, I guess the AK, M-14, M-16(?) are it since you don't want a FAL and you already have the G3. Were the FAMAS and SA-80 available here once?
