Come on stop the snobbery, we all know at this point your trolling atrs MH-MV, I get you don't like dpms, and I would understand if it would be a dpms barrel or receiver or something, but come on the lower part kit without the trigger parts? What could go wrong with that? The bolt carrier, that is not a part in a ar15 that can give you trouble! I will give you the bolt, yes that could be a weaker point but come on you put a Daniel defence on in for a couple of $ and your golden!

Interesting comment about the T97, since awhile ago there was a posting on CGN where there was a blow up of the rifle because pistol powder got mixed up with rifle powder when reloading. The owner was not hurt since the barrel extension protected his face, even though the magazine and top cover where blown off. If it had been an AR15 he would not have been so lucky!

Or maybe he would have, since the AR-15 kabooms in such a way to direct everything away from your face.

Wow, I think I just found an instance where a kel-Tec is less likely to blow up in your face! They actually designed the RFB and rdb with that scenario in mind, hence the cold steel you rest your face on... that people always complain about. Point kel-tec
 
Where's the SL8 love in this thread?? You can find a used one for around $1800 (saw one at cabelas for $1600), They are super reliable, have one of the best made barrels on the planet and with the right ammo are sub MOA. Mine with 60 gr varmigeddons is 3/4 MOA all day. Is it a little barrel heavy? yes but doesnt matter what you pick with 18.5 inches in front of you they all are.

Is the thumb hole stock a little weird? yes but you can change it or if your crafty do it yourself. I've shot quite a few coyotes with mine

On a side note, my D&H magazines work very well with my T97. In fact those are my go to mag if not using pistol mags as they seem to work in everything.

120 yards, shooting down hill at a small jar of tannerite. On the last shot I rested against a tree stump. Iron sights, completely stock T97 with 55 grain American Eagle. I was just missing, until I think it was the 4th shot. Keep in mind, a small jar of tannerite. I won't lie, luck was involved. Plus I was racing a buddy who was about to blast that jar with the 50BMG he was sighting in.

Good point! :) My issue with the NR ACR is the added cost of the barrel and conversion (as well as its "heavier-than-it-should-be" weight). By the time you're done it's significantly more expensive than an SL8. I wonder how an SL8 with an HK243 barrel would compare weight-wise with an ACR with a normal-profile NR barrel?

I got a simple restricted folding stock restricted ACR and have Herron converting to barrel of my choice.

Benelli is very good but accuracy wise for a semi the FNAR is very high in the food chain, with the right load, it's a sub MOA rifle... JP.

I still think the ACR wins hands down. Yes, it's a more expensive - but you get a collapsible folding stock, it's completely ambidextrous and it literally takes about 30 seconds to change out to a different caliber. It's only marginally heavier than a Tavor or X95 but lighter than a Swiss Arms Black Special. When you upgrade to an RPM M-LOK handguard it drops the weight even further. They now come with the Geissele trigger so you're on par with any kind of AR15 setup. And it takes any kind of magazine without issue. And not that it matters to everyone, but it's also a piston system - so it's going to be running cooler and cleaner than most DIs.

I'm not sure which generation they're currently up to, but I've owned several and the latest generation seems excellent in all respects.
