Hi everyone,

My cousin lives in Connecticut and he would like to come up and do some small game hunting with me this fall. I own 110 acres land zoned for hunting and I just want to clarify what exactly I need to do to have him come up and hunt with me.

So, what is the process for a U.S. resident to hunt small game in QC with me on private land?

Thank you all in advance

Thanks Brutus, although I can do french it doesn't seem very clear cut for small game. The website is also a pain to navigate through!

no experience with this, but looks like he can just go buy a permit

any questions just call 1-866-4CHASSE they are always very helpful.

Thank you very much, thats how it seemed to me when I first read the regulations but I wanted to double check here. I called the number and I just need to buy a non-resident hunting permit at canadian tire for $94.00, I can even go buy it for him so he doesn't need to make the stop and just come meet me at the hunting camp. Surprisingly easy.

If you look, there is a tab marked "english"....voila. Top right of page.

Times have changed. In 1988 I went to Ilez Morrison, Quebec for a copy of the reg's. They handed me a French only copy of the regulations and that was about it. They were real friendly like too.

To be totally honest, my least favorite province in Canada. (Along with the superbly & always helpful QPP, who so so often have a roadside checkpoint, just before NB and pulling over, out of province plates only)
