Remington 740 stock ideas

Hey Nutters, I recently acquired a 1955 remington 740 in 30-06.
I already have numerous hunting rifles including a 760 in 30-06, so I thought I might do something fun with this semi.
I was wondering if anyone has purchased/found/made a tactical looking stock (rear and fore).
I'll just be reloading to shoot this one for fun, so looking a bit more modern would be nice.
All i've seen is replacement hunting stocks, in wood or cheap plastic.
Please remember, this is not an expensive rifle that I want to invest in as a project, just something affordable for fun.

By looking at it, I think a Rem 870 after market might fit.

Any of the Remington 870 (20or 16 gauge?, I can't remember which) will fit. The frame is smaller than the 12 gauge. You can use the 12 gauge stocks but fitting/sanding is required. Just recently put a MagPul SGA on my 760. Came out pretty good.

Forends are an issue. There was a Ramline set that included the stock and for-end, but I haven't seen them in a while. I seem to remember reading about an adapter that let you use an 1100/1187 forend. You might also be able to modify an 1100/1187 fore-end to work, but it might be quite a job.

That's my goto for hard to get stocks.
Not that expensive either.

I have a 7400 with 870 20 ga stock. Boyd's did come out with a forend a couple years but recalled them all because they were complete garbage. 2nd shot with mine and it split right in half. They would refund me for the forend but their exact words about returning buttstock was "we would like to give you the opportunity to keep the buttstock and can not refund your money for it" I kept it on the rifle and painted it to match the original Tupperware forend because I liked the extra weight and shape of it better than the hollow synthetic original.
