New 10/22 Under Folder Stock from Poland (yes, Poland)...

If you can afford it, its beautiful, but nobody really likes underfolders for AK's so I doubt this will be the last stock you buy if you plan on shooting.

To be honest I have 2 in black plastic. One for a 10/22 breakdown and one for a carbine, i really like them, light and fast to point.

My 10/22 is a safe queen anyway. I have .22s that are just plain WAY more accurate. I just keep toying with ideas to make the gun fun enough to bother with.

Kind of interesting. The wood is all new, and the folder is refurbed AK underfolder.

The stock clears the now prohib banana mags when folded.

The US EBay site says: "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available". Apparently, the company went belly up with their product.

how much were they selling them for? are there any 10 22 in Poland ?

For USD155 which amounts to about CD$197. A crazy price for a piece of wood and metal.
Regarding the 10/22, private possession of firearms in Poland is very restricted, much more than in Canada. There are just a few of the 10/22's in private hands. Having said that, in the big cities there are public shooting ranges that also offer the 10/22's among other firearms for target shooting. However, they are not so cheap as they charge about CD$20-25 per hour plus the cost of ammo. As I understand it, those guys from the MBW Stocks wanted to sell tons of their product to the West but apparently it didn't work this way.

thanks for the info. the sky high price tag quite is insane. When the same thing can be made for about $70-$80

Huh, the TFB article is only 4 days old...

It does give me a few ideas though. I can probably source the folder hardware for pretty cheap, and then just shape a wood stock to go with it.

I'm "not a fan" (understatement) of the 10/22... And yet I have one in my safe that keeps taunting me "please, please, do something with me, take me out, let me breath..." At which point I invariably grab a different .22 that I actually enjoy shooting.

But the temptation to mess with it to turn it into something fun remains...

70-80 cost? or retail?
only a non-chinese surplus underfolder shoulder piece
complete with trunion runs 90-120US retail
(that is without the wood in the pics in the OP,
that wood looks fairly nice and is not cheap to make).

Surplus underfolder hardware goes for $18-$50USD retail... This is just from a very quick search. If I looked harder, I could probably find an even better price. One outfit was selling Hungarian underfolders for $9.95 on clearance a little while ago.

At least someone put the underfolder on something that it would probably work on - I loved carrying mine, but shooting it wasn't much fun, even after the sharp edges were smoothed off. The AK had just enough recoil to leave a small bruise on my cheek.
