A while back, I saw something about a station where you shoot from a wobbly boat. I also just read about a "squirrel" - starts as a rabbit, but then runs up an inclined log and eventually 'leaps' into the air.

What other presentations have you seen that may be out of the ordinary?

A rabbit that rolls down a 45 degree slope in a "channel" formed by some trim nailed on the sides of 2x4. It runs, it seems almost painstakingly slow onto level ground on a cleared area, through a short window of 6 or 8 feet, made by hay bales to a "safe area", where un-hit targets stack up for future use. Shot from a distance of about 10 yards.

So short range, slow and through a very short window. Many miss by shooting too far ahead !

Trying to form a picture? Bounce the bird off a trampoline or mount the trap on a trampoline? This one needs video.

The Brooks club had a station like that. The bird ricocheted off of a full size trampoline. I think I have a picture at home of the setup.

Sydenham Sportsmen's Association in Owen Sound also uses a trampoline to bounce a clay off, surprisingly works very well. Had to laugh and do a double take the first time our squad saw it, one of the guy's took a video maybe he will chime in here.

I've seen similar targets but not in years. The challenge was you had to con someone into spending the entire day rolling targets down the chute.

The wacky presentations (sit in a boat, poison bird) are increasingly less common. In competition the birds need to be relatively the same for all shooters so the trampoline or similar type presentations might not be consistent from shot to shot.

The strangest shoot I can recall was a 10 station charity shoot many years at small club in the U.S. where there was a different gun and ammo at each station. You shot a different configuration or gauge at each station including a single shot requiring a quick reload for the second bird. First and only time I've run into that. It was fun.

The clay was shot side on into the trampoline at about a distance of 20 feet, the trampoline was at 45 degrees to the trap. It made for a really good rising teal in the sporting layout. Courtenay Road and Gun, about 2-3 years ago.

Candocad.

Somewhere I have a picture of that trampoline heading east, 20' in the air at about 40mph, after an oilmans shoot. It was a wicked windstorm that night.

Our club does a sporting clays shoot once a month through half the year and we run a station called the poison bird station. Three machines at the bottom of a slight hill throwing straight away and upward with the middle machine filled with different coloured clays. All three machines fire at the same time and the left and right machines clays cross over part way up, the aim being to not hit the different colour poison bird....it's one of my favourite presentations.

Otter Valley in Southern Ontario skips a bird off the surface of a pond and you have to shoot it after it skips followed by a bird that comes from behind you over your head and going straight away from you.

Just this summer I shot clays from a boat .the boat is mounted to a 3 point frame by 3 fairly soft springs . the boat has a generous 30" section of the side removed for easy entrance . a squad mate holds your gun until your in and seated . also at the same shoot at an other station you shot in coming pairs while seated on a crapper . yep a crapper .
