I have seen tons of moose and woodland caribou , plus at least 4 black bears dropped like hotshyt with a .270win. Although, if you don't hit bone, a couple of the exit wounds looked like the Incredible Hulk punched his fist clear through the moose!!

It's perfect if you aren't able to shoot anything bigger.

Or if you have the experience, marksmanship and confidence to understand that the perceived/paper benefits don't translate to anything practical in the field.

depends what you hunt... It's great for rabbit and partridge imho.

I love the 270 for versatility and living in Southern Ontario would be my one gun, but of course having a proper addiction I own alot more.

I don't care, I just love me a good ol' fashioned 270 vs 30-06 scrap. I am a fan of both, and use both calibers interchangably. It literally just depends on which one is closer to the front of the safe on hunting morning.

Similiar might be a word..
You can get .270 ammo any where in the world.. Not so much with exotic calibres

The only cartridge I like more than a .270win is a .375H&H and that sucker can also be a 270 just 270grain bullet and not .270cal
