Trouble with Dominion 9mm ammunition?

Anyone else having trouble with out of spec Dominion 9mm?
First - I've had two squibb loads.

Second - I'm having one or two PER MAGAZINE fail to chamber. Bullet gets stuck in the barrel, and I have to press the front of the slide on a piece of 2x4 to get the case to eject from the chamber. Last time, the bullet got stuck in the barrel when the brass ejected, and I got powder all inside my gun everywhere.

I've only fired 75 rounds out of my 1000 round box.
I don't feel confident that things are going to get much better the more I shoot.

I've now replicated the failure to chamber problem in three guns. Glock 19, SD9VE and CZ SP-01 Tactical. Very disappointed with this ammunition.

How long since you bought that batch of ammos? I know they had problems early on, the first batch I bought from them had a bunch of out of specs like yours, but they sent me a hundred extra to make up for it, and I had no problem with my 2nd batch of ammos.

I've used about 20 000 rounds of the Canada Ammo Dominon 9mm.

They have been used in 2 CZ Shadow 2 pistols, Beretta 92 and 2 Beretta CX4 carbines.

I've had a couple of squibs and a couple of dud primers and a few that won't chamber. The failure rate is actually not that different from any bulk ammo, whether reloaded or factory fresh. So only about 20 in 20 thousand were defective. I can live with that

So it's been great ammo for me, especially as the price is very attractive. But if you are having 20% not able to chamber in several different firearms there was probably a glitch in the system when your batch was getting loaded.

Yea man. Interesting to see I'm not the only one having issues.
I live very close to my range, so I went again this evening for the second time today.
Same problem. One round per magazine will not chamber, and drives itself into the barrel such that I cannot extract it without using a 2x4 of wood to press against. I've never had this experience with any other ammunition, honestly. One per magazine is just too much.

The case of Dominion 9mm i bought was absolute trash. 1 or 2 duds per mag at least. I use the ammo to practice malfunctions because it....malfunctions. Never again.

I just burned through 1000 rounds of the same Dominion Commercial Reload as " Still alive " mentioned above with not one single issue. Even when practicing rapid fire double taps. Canik TP9sa , Walther PPK and Beretta CX-4.

Is Dominion Ammo ,factory or CanAm's Commercial Reloaded house ammo? I bought 2000 of their reloads and have had no issues so far, even in matches.

Can Am's reloaded ammo.

I think they had a bit of trouble at first, but ironed out the issues. Still the occasional misshap happens with any ammo.

When they first brought it out I bought 1000 rounds to check it out, no real problems. So like I said, I've gone through 20 000 and just got another 10 000 that I'll start on tomorrow. I don't anticipate any problems but I guess we will see.

Interesting to hear about the issues. I've been buying from CRS and started getting some light primer strikes lately and misfires. Never happened before. So I decided to try the CanAm reloads as they were cheap. Not one problem. BUT a buddy found a bullet loaded upside down in his batch of DA ammo! So maybe still some QC issues.

CRS uses a commercial CCI primer in the 9mm, which seems a bit harder than many. I never had any issue with ignition in hammer fired pistols but sometimes they wouldn't pop when using the CX4 carbines. The DA primers ignite reliably in the CX4 though.

If there is going to be a defect in ammo, a backwards bullet type of defect is my favorite type, since you can visually see it! :)

If I thought the Canada Ammo 9mm was substandard, I wouldn't use it, but obviously I think it's good ammo, especially at the price point. I've seen many types of defects with factory ammunition of various brands. Federal, Winchester, Remington, etc all have their issues too, including backwards primers, bullets with out lead cores, dud primers, ammo that won't chamber, hot loads, whatever. So when I get cheap 9mm ammo and I have a cull 1 or 2 in a bulk box of 1000, I'm just not that put off. Paying $65 for a 20 round box of premium ammo and finding out half of it won't chamber in your hunting rifle is much more annoying. :)

1 or 2 out of 1000? I'm talking 1 or 2 in 10. Not figuratively. Literally. I got hosed. ####ed. I lost money. I work hard for my money and I'm here with 925 rounds of #### that I wouldn't give to my worst enemy. Kick. In. The. Teeth.

I want a refund.

Like, good for you with your 1-2 in 1000 story and everything, but I'm in a totally different situation here.

When you contacted Canada Ammo about a refund what did they say?

Do you run a range or something? From what I remember this ammunition has only been available for a year or so.

Yes, he does. So his testimony for the DA stuff is worth listening to since he will have a lot of POed clients if the ammo fails constantly!

Like I said, first time using it from CanAm and I just grab handfuls and throw them in a Ziplock and take to the range. Not one problem so far but I've only shot about 500 rds of it.
