** Your NEA102 build **

Just did a little photo shoot.

First impressions - she's really front heavy, probably a lot to due with the fact that the handguard is built like a brick s#!thouse. Trigger is as expected. Some of the edges, especially the vertical front edges of the magwell are very abrupt and could benefit from a little extra chamfering/deburring.

Haven't fired it yet, but so far happy with my purchase.

Milspec Magpul CTR stock fit perfectly.

Thanks for the pics!

I plan on going with the TriggerTech as well. I have never used a flat trigger.

Curved vs. Flat?

Pros and cons of each, anyone?

Thanks

Another accuracy test?
You continue doing this and your shooting skills will improve! :)

Thanks for the pics.

Cheers,

Thanks! I really like this rifle.

When I installed the trigger I also took the time to clean the bore, bolt, bolt carrier & lubricated the rifle for the next range trip! :ar15:

Cheers

What size rings or mounts you guys plan to use? I just scoured the bench for a set of rings to try this thing out and the medium just don't cut it height wise. What should I be looking to pick up?

ADM mount or more budget friendly Burris pepr mount. High rings should work though. But what you'd pay for a decent set might as well get Burris pepr mount then you can mount it further forward. ADM mount as well. Looks like hunter1970 in a couple posts above this one is using a vortex mount. My preferred is ADM but I've had Burris pepr and it worked fine as would the vortex I'm sure

Had mine out to the range this morning and put in some trigger time.

I screwed up, and neglected to properly tighten my scope rings when i initially installed the scope on the mount, so some of the precision challenges are definitely my fault.

Recoil is reasonable - less than my bolt .308 for sure, however a rubber butt pad will be a welcome addition.

The trigger HAS to go. Stopped into my LGS after the range to see what (if anything) they could get. Turns out I'm better off ordering online, but all the staff were pretty stoked to get a chance to handle the rifle.

Grouped as expected. Had 2 stoppages. Failed to fully seat the bolt after my very first shot, and failed to strip a round once (5/10 PMag). I think I can cut group size in half (or better) with a better trigger.

Definitely going to be changing out the A2 pistol grip for an MOE K2, and I think the 3-9 scope needs to become a 4.5-14.

I've added a picture of today's target to my online album (https://goo.gl/photos/REbdMFc6n4FF99F28)
