Glock Gen 5??

i have large hands , but shortish fingers , i have the gen 3 glock with finger grooves , i hate them , im glad they are not adding them any more ,i will be sanding miine off and giving the old soldering iron a go on the grip .... i see the mil version got a manual safety as well

Yes, short stubby fingers. I

do your ring fingers end up on top of a groove if you hold it naturally? I love my gen3 and the finger grooves they fit me perfectly and naturally but im like top 10 percentile in hand size. why would you want a manual safety lol? point and shoot under stress is a key feature

The submission for the MHS contract had a manual safety as it was required. Glock does not offer a manual safety as it is neither needed nor wanted.

kidd x .... are you saying glock doesnt offer civilian versions with a manual safety ? hence why i stated the mil version comes with a manual saftey , the new zealand armed forces has this one .

Now more aerodynamic... to throw at the enemy when you're mag runs dry. That ad would convince me!

LOL...... the ole "toss the weapon at the enemy when you run out of bullets" award would go to Hi-Point....... not Glock. Glock is to light.

I can use my Hi-Point .45 as a gun, a hammer/club, anchor....

Waiting for one that will match your heels and purse? :p

funny, but no :)

Glock seems managed by some old idiots, because they can`t see the potential of introducing different style guns.

Without the huge govt contracts now, they may have to adapt fast or loose big time $ just because their guns are ugly :).

Happy to see you can take a joke. Kudos. :d I agree the Glock designs are rather plain Jane, and very singular in design, but I suppose there's beauty in raw functionality. And I don't think Glock will be losing any money over it. They're probably selling more guns today than they have in 30+ years.

"New gen 3: finger grooves because you need them!"
"New gen 5: no finger grooves because they're stupid!!!"

nDLC - Diamond Like Finish. Not sure if the "n" is "New"? :p

I believe there were two other finishes, Tenifer which was that shiny, black finish and was harder and Melonite which was a duller dark gray and less wear resistant and I guess the DLC finish now? I'm sure a Glock enthusiast would chime in.

I find the smooth flat grey finish on my Gen4 to be not nearly as tough as the dark black shiny "orange peel" finish that I had on a Gen3 previously. I much prefer the latter finish. I would like to see something more in line with that on the new pistols.

On another note, I'm glad to see no finger grooves...I detest those.

Older Gen 4's had the finish you were referring to, then Glock changed it to the flat finish which is much easier to scuff than the old one. I like to think of the older tougher finish like the new frying pans with the "Rock" finish on them.

They had to have finger grooves when being imported from Austria to the US, importation points system the US demanded. Now that Glocks are being made in the US, they put it back to no finger grooves, as the points system no longer applies to domestic production.....
