Could someone who own a ATRS AT,MV or MH please post some up close pictures of the inside of your lower receiver, better yet will the trigger group removed?

This is NOT intended to start any flaming of ATRS !

Thanks in advance

Removing and replacing the trigger pack from our MH and MV lowers is NOT something that can be done without a very high likelihood of damaging both the trigger and the lower. Which is why we put it in bold print in the owners manual to not under any circumstance try to remove the trigger pack. There is only 1 circumstance where a trigger pack would require being removed and that is IF the trigger pack fails and then we need to warrant it anyway which means it has to come home for service.

If you have specific questions email me directly and I will see what I can do to answer them.

Well I'm not going to show you the pictures you are asking for, because I'm not going to promote f*ing with ATRS's product, but I will show you this.

THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER REBRANDED AR-15. This is not your commonly available Lego kit. I have had mine apart to make a couple of changes, (Elftmann Tactical push button safety and ejection port cover which required removal of the barrel). And to all those who keep asking if this takes standard ar-15 barrels the answer is NO, close but not quite (pin in barrel extension is located at the bottom). I am having a hard time wrapping my head around why people want everything about this to be ar-15 compatible. Part of the beauty of this rifle is that it is not another ar-15. This is why we are fortunate enough to have this available to us as NR. Once you have one you will see that there are so many little differences between parts compatibility. The differences aren't huge but they are enough to be different. This was a necessary part of the design so that this wouldn't have any possible way of being called a ar -15 varient. This has been beaten to death already.
Even the safety selector, detent ball and spring are different. The safety that comes on it has some material removed to allow for clearance of the rear trunion system. I had to mill off some material from the top portion on both inside sides of the Elftmann push button safety I installed so it would toggle without hitting the trunion assembly plus it still wouldn't toggle using the original detent ball and spring (that came with the rifle) because it didn't allow enough movement so I had to use a standard ar detent pin and spring. It functions 100% proper and safe but was definitely not "plug and play". I have a Fortis QD plate for it but once again it won't work because the sling swivel will not push in far enough to catch due to the bolt head of the rear trunion pin. I have a Magpul plate coming that should work because it is extended and should allow the sling swivel to insert far enough to clear. Again not every part from your ar-15 Lego kit will work. Most everything about this rifle is just a little bit different. Not impossible to make changes but will require some work. If you want to start changing things and you aren't skilled in fabrication and machining this is not for you.
Thank's again to ATRS for not just building us another ar-15.

I wonder if it chafes for ATRS to go to all that effort - everything being different and special, to get NR. Then BCL is 80% AR compatible parts. It's like a brute force solution Vs simplicity.

I was wondering about replacing the safety on one of these. Thanks for the clear explanation jiffx2781!

It's not extremely difficult but does require some fitting. I'm sure most any safety could be modified to work. Here's a couple pictures to show you the difference between the "proprietary" parts and the standard ar-15 parts.

If you can notice on the ATRS safety selector there is some additional material removed to allow for it to clear and rotate around the part of the upper receiver that the rear take down pin (trunion) inserts into. I photoshopped a pic with arrows pointing to exact locations but for some reason it wouldn't let me upload it. If you look close enough you will see the difference.

The Elftmann Tactical push button safety did not need to have the material removed all the way around like it is on the ATRS safety. I only needed to remove some from the side that is at the top when installed because the push button safety does not rotate like your standard selector switch.

Even though things on this rifle are just a little bit different it's not impossible to make things work with it. The only thing I would not mess with is the trigger group. There really is no reason to. The Timney trigger is among the best you can get. If someone really doesn't like or want the one that comes with it Timney does make a two stage model and the new Calvin Elite 1.5 pound ar trigger pack that are both compatible. I'm sure ATRS would build your rifle with either of them if you're really that picky.

Well with ATRS's design they were at least able to get the scaled down .223 version approved. We all know that a scaled down BCL102 would become an ar-15. I'll eat my shirt if they ever find a way around that one. But let's not get into that topic here

Again, thanks jiffx2781! I really love the Battle Arms Development Short Throw Ambidextrous Safety Selector, and would prefer one of them if I was to buy an MV.

I think people have difficulty reconciling that ATRS built a clever solution to the AR-15 problem that is NR, but as a result can't be lego'd like the AR-15. That's part of the popularity of the AR-15, with minimal tools and some internet videos it is possible to truly make any AR-15 yours. With the MV, the price is higher and some of that modularity is lost. I can see how that irks some people, but it's also NR, so you really can't have both so far in .223 Rem.

Reading posts like this always makes me wonder about the true intent of the OP. Lots of wolves in sheep clothing here.

But I have been known to be very suspicious.

Suspicious of what lol? The intentions of my post were because I simply hoped to see the inside of a ATRS receiver, wanted to see how complex they are compared to the simple common AR receiver.

Not complex just not the same as an AR-15 and not compatible with standard AR triggers.
When you spend the money to buy a MH or MV you pay the extra to buy a rifle that doesn't really need to be upgraded in many areas.

Wow.. The OP just wanted to see a picture of the inside.

If(*when*) I receive mine, I'll do you a favour and show you pictures and also dimensions of the trigger group, and also the pin size, locations etc.

I'll compare and measure to see what steps are needed for an AR15 trigger swap.

The only reason this isn't an AR15 variant is the stepped receiver and how the two halves mount together.

Everything else is just random changes. Think ACR differences vs an AR15 and that's all it takes.
