Off for 9 days Lake hunting Sambar!

Gday fellas, really excited to head off this week for 9 days on the Sambar, its not a big deal for you guys but we don't often Boat into Camps on biig lakes and get to hunting valleys/areas by boat in the mornings and stuff... theres about 6 guys heading in with me at various stages but me an 2 others will do 4-5 days at the end, an should be 5 or so in camp Friday to sunday,
some awesome steep country, big deep gulleys and good glassing ops, also great bush stalking! I'm tossing up yet weather I take the Kimber or the 9.3 , leaning toward the Kimber fairly well!!

a few guys are 'Due' for Stags, which is exciting because I know if they get out there , it may darn well happen... its up to them.

I'm floating in early with my "Guru" mate whos a long time sambarhunter who jjust hasn't had the luck on the big stags so far.... 338 rcm toter, he has a tonne of hind meat to hes name though, some good trophys but he is due!

its a bit of a meet and greet with some active forum members on Aus forum, they seem genuine and good ethics so are Welcomed on a hunt that needs to much effort to organise.

lots of boots on the ground, wet weather expected too! some breaks of sun will be welcomed.


I hope I get a good video reflecting our time, stay tuned next month.

Ted, the only thing hampering the .366 is the tikka blued barrel, one run In the rain the other week an it ended up orange!
for the 9 days I think the Kimber is better suited for longevity :D

yeah its a bit of a worry, I only have 12 rounds for the big one anyway so I'm goin to take the Kimber 7mm08 along because I may need a few extra shots for the Wild Dogs if any encounters and roumer has it they are quite thick up there, so perhaps a pack in encountered, I would like to empty a mag on em anyway but still have enough incase of a good stag poorly hit or ...you know how it is. more is just better!

9 days isa bit of time in the field , this way theres no doubt 40 rounds or so for Incase needed.

proberly wont even use 2 but ya'know..

I'm only a few days out from Depature!! I am so freaking excited! the snow iss due at 500m ASL on Friday The lake Level is around 460m ASL!! an 20-40mm on the Thursday, which I will be boating Across 13kilometers!! haha wild!
packing the rain coat for sure!!

I've had to borrow a bigger boat! 25hp ona 3.85 tinny should do the trick!

All the other fellas, are keen as a bean too!
