If memory serves the light transmission on the last production Vari X 11 C was 84% when they were new,( coating can degrade, and besides the first ones weren't as good as the last.) Whereas the current VX 1 is now at 92% or the equal of the best Vari-X 111s made. In optics that's day and night. Or deyenite.

Current VX2s are at 94 % for reference. VX 3s are 98.

Warranty is not the issue. The world hasn't just stood still in the last few decades.

It is the most current model it seems VX-ONE 3-9X40 duplex I didn't think the price was bad considering there is used ones in the EE for the same price or higher. Also some with no box or papers plus S&H
