Stainless Steel Engraving Cover Up

Without seeing the damage caused by the stamps it's hard to tell. I have seen some pretty impressive engraving jobs done in the US where initials and social insurance numbers were engraved or stamped into the receivers on on the barrels.
In Vernon there used to be a lady in the Trophy Shop that did very good engraving work and I saw one job she did for a friend on his small Martini Cadet action. If you looked close you could still see some of the electropencil engraving but it wasn't obvious and mostly covered up with engravings of vines and leaves. She ended up marrying the Mayor who was crooked and ended up in jail. She sold the shop and moved away.
Ask your local trophy engraver if he/she is artistic enough to do such work. That Red Label may well be worth it.

James Galts, Goldsmith in Calgary might be able to help. I have a stainless Ruger New Model Blackhawk he engraved for himself years ago and it is stunning. Examples of his work are on his website. He claimed there were 4 different grades of SS in the gun but he did a spectacular job on it.

Super work and the gun cost less than a used plain one these days, should have spent some more and bought a python he also did for the show disply.

There should be a law against people stamping or engraving initials/names, birthdays, and social insurance numbers on guns.

This brings to mind a stupid RCMP member that got a new elcro engraver for the office and engraved the file # on a 1890 SAA Colt that he sized.
The customer brought it to me after the case was thrown out and gun returned to him.
Not much your can do with something like that, but he did get some money out of them
