I was on the hunt for some sort of art to hang in the man cave and came across an original WWI Victory Bond poster that a local woman was selling. Her Da found it in an attic in the 20s while doing some work for someone.
Well, one has started to turn into a collection, I'm up to 4 now. The killer part is the cost of framing and U/V protecting glass. A normal person would be happy with a repro they could get plaque mounted at Walmart, not me of course. Yet another collecting rabbit hole for me to go down. Sigh.
Anybody else got some? Lessee em!

Oh, and the lad "Doing My Bit", any guesses on the Regt? Still digging on that one.

You're telling me. "Yours not to do and die" is luckily safely in the frame. It's really brittle and water stained in spots. It's not like they were using archival vellum for these things!

just scored my first one recently too a lil while ago at auction
-Framed original 1943 government issued pic of Abe Lincon "Buy War Bonds" poster
got it hanging in a great spot in my house too, a real head turner & conversation starter
wish I had more good wall space for a few more

That's my problem. They ain't small and there's only so much wall room. And money. Only so much (little) money.
I was thinking about getting a nice big "Dogs Playing Poker" for the living room and when the wife freaks, "compromise" and settle for a couple of these instead.
Marriage is about compromise.

And stupid throw pillows everywhere.

Just be sure to keep them out of direct sunlight and away non-sealed windows. If you decide to get them re-framed, don't cheap out and go to Michael's or some other B-grade framing shop, spend the money and take it to a pro shop. One never truly owns historical memorabilia, we're just enjoying it while we take care of it for the next person.

Half of my life seems to be moving that #### around just so I can sit down. It's a nightly 10 minute ritual to shuffle all the nonsense around just so I can go to fricken bed.

I have a couple given to me years ago by the nurse who served at the Bertram plant during the war it was her job to change the posters when new ones came out there was a roll about 5 inched thick...now the bad news they were in her garage since the war and the mice weather and squirrels got at them BUT 2 survived intact one is very dark with a white cross sort of stabbing a swastika which is on the ground with the caption I BELIEVE the other is a map of England with the channel and the coast of France showing HOW MANY TONS OF AXIS SHIPPING SUNK IN THE CHANNEL ..both are like new ..too bad about the rest
