Hey guys.
Is there a recipe out there for this load. I have been all over the map for powder charge from 39gr down to 35gr.
I have even changed the bullet depth. the cases are prepped and weighed. The only thing i haven't checked is the fps.

I can't get any consistence and all over the target. 12" target at 300 yards.
My rifle shoots moa at that range with other loads.

I am looking for any information that could help develop and accurate 190 gr load.
If nothing else i will move down to the 175gr mark

Thank in advance

Sorry the powder is AR-Comp from Alliant powder. I loaded 40 GR of powder and tried to set the bullet but i decided against it when i started to compact the powder.

I would not load any hotter than 40 gr. No harm in compacting the powder. Can you load longer and still fit the mag?

For a 190 gr bullet, I would usually load something slower, like Varget or 748 or H380.

I would have to check my logs, I have loaded the 190gr LRAB in my 308 using Varget and AR-Comp, Varget showed the best results and fps over AR Comp but I never pursued it in the 308 as my 300winmag and 30-06 liked them better.

Nosler list the AR-Comp as the "Most Accurate" for what you are trying to do, but that doesn't mean your rifle likes that combination as mine seemed to prefer the Varget.

My rifle was a Rem SPS Varmint, 26inch 1-12 and I loaded it at 2.800, I can get the rest of the data when I get off work and check my logs.

Last weekend i loaded some more and dropped the powder to 34 gr and it seemed to keep the shot on a 12 x 12 target. i still don't have a consistent vertical or horizontal grouping.
This weekend if the wind is low i will drop my powder another grain and have another go at it. Times like this i wish i would like to have the more common 1-12 twist barrel.

Glad you posted I had almost forgot.

So I did;
43g Varget (worked up from 40g in groups of 5)
210m primers
Norma 1xf brass (fire formed to rifle)
Brass 2.000
Loaded 2.800

That got me 2555avg fps SD of 8fps

My AR-Comp loads seem to follow your results actually with an avg 2391fps SD 21fps

If I remember that's why I dropped that powder. Didn't like anything it did or showed so dropped it asap.

Your twist in common lor says it should stabilize better then my 1-12. I would think your fps and SD might be showing same signs as me.

My suggestions; check the fps and see if your are committed to the powder, otherwise ditch it and move on kinda what I did.

Twist has nothing to do with your big groups - patterns.

Why are you loading so mild? Powders burn most consistently at higher pressures. have you tried up to 40 gr? That is where I would expect the powder to work well.
