52 participants had a great time at the Tactical 2 Gun event at CFGPA. Many thanks to title sponsors Canada Ammo... The grand prizes were certainly appreciated by those lucky winners who were drawn from the can!!! Thanks to all our regular sponsors too.

Big thanks to match director SmellyPete, and all the volunteers!!

Another CASE course is being held this weekend for those interested in participating in future matches: https://www.dssmatch.com/register-for-case

And now, the photos!

Last one is on the 17th - this weekend, open for registration right now.

You will NEED to attend the set up to participate though (on the 16th at noon), 1 set up required to be in the finale, so you should be able to set up / shoot this weekend.

Looks like fun.

What are the red/orange and black bucks? No-step / step markers ?

My first guess would be a simulated mine-field.

Very cool idea.

Yeah, got a lot of comments on that one:).
That was the rifle portion of the stage; you then dumped it downrange, danced back through the minefield, and shot your pistol at the steel in pictures #5+8 with the no-shoots behind it (stole that idea from the crew at the Milo 3gun this summer:) ). Sorry I didn't get more pics of people tip-toeing at speed back through the stage (there were some funny high-stepping expressions!), but the liquid sunshine blessed my camera lens:(.
Funniest comment was from one competitor who didn't quite tune in on the stage briefing, and thought the black ones were inert. Crunch-Crunch-Crunch:).
I figured a +5 per clay would keep people from being too concerned with them. Seemed to work well.

Great bunch of people out for the shoot! Everyone pitched in for the clean up in the monsoon, and we had, what, 13 people out for set up? That was awesome, made for a very light set up day, and allowed us to fine tune the stages without scrambling around in the dark. ROs were professional and helpful, and although it was our first time with Practiscore, the scorekeepers had it dialed in, which made the final score tally unbelievably easy. Without the help these things can't get done, kudos to all the volunteers.

With the new Board elected last night at CFGPA, I really believe we are heading in a very positive direction. The membership support for DSS is certainly strong. I look forward to great things next year!
