I am having a hell of a time finding Lee classic loaders looking for .223, .308, .303 British, and Powder measure kit. Case gauges would be a bonus. Is anyone aware of a store that sells this stuff and actually has stock. When I find one they don't have the other or the prices are crazy high if both are in stock. I can get them state side at a fair price but would rather save the gas, am I the only one that is interested in this?

This looks promising ill have to send them an email. Thanks. Do you know of they ship theres no web store?

Higginson Powders does ship and is very good to deal with. I always order over the phone.

Find their phone number on their contact page: http://www.higginsonpowders.com/contactus.html

To make things go quickly, I always make sure that I have the actual Lee part numbers for everything that I am looking for.

Their Lee price list this year looks like a custom version of the Lee catalog made just for Higginson, which is pretty handy. Previously, their Lee price list was a couple of pages in a PDF file with prices and references to the page numbers in the Lee catalog. The custom catalog thing is a welcome change!

1-You can get any Lee SKU from western metal, just head to their forum and ask. Their prices are fair and they ship for free for orders over 300$ (assuming you're gonna need powder and bullets you're gonna get to 300$ pretty quickly);
2-Titan reloading sells all 3 through amazon.ca. Shipping price on a single unit is expensive, but if you buy 2 they will combine shipping. Total for 2 loaders is 113.81$. includes all taxes;
3-You're the only one who's interested in these things because they don't make particularly accurate ammos for benchrest shooters and they're really slow to use for mass volume. The only market for the Lee loaders is the hunters who shoot only a couple rounds per year with really expensive calibres. You might think about getting a press if you want to do benchrest or reloads lots of ammos.

not true

they are slow, yes, but they are an inline seater and with proper dimensions can make ammo rivalling the BEST reloaders. This has been proven many times using runout testing.

don't use the "Wack-A-Mole" method, use an arbor press.

you comment tells me you have never used one.

A Lee Loader works fine for the guy who doesn't reload much. With factory bullets your cartridges will be as good as anything that is reloaded on a press, and probably as good as factory rounds.

They are slow, but not that slow. If you back up the die body with a small anvil or heavy steel plate, and use a 1# hard plastic-tipped mallet, all operations will be quick and easy.

Contrary to instructions and You-Tube videos, you do not drive the casing out of the die and onto the priming anvil. You drive out all cases into the depriming anvil first, and then prime the cases alone, without the die body. It works better.

Gun shows are a great place to find used Lee Loaders.

You can make very accurate ammo with Lee Classic Loaders.
Check out Budget Shooting Supplies, Amazon.ca or if you are near the boarder order them in U.S.

Cheers,

I use a Lee Loader for reloading 148 gr wadcutters for my S&W K38, and it works very well. That's the only reloading I do. No doubt a press would be faster, but I don't mind its pace. I find that I can get the cartridges quite uniform. 38 Spl wadcutters have not been available commercially over the counter where I live (Vancouver) for the last couple of years, or anywhere in Canada on line that I've ever seen. I do have some commercial ammo (Fiocchi) and so far as I can tell, my reloads with the Lee Loader are just as good. 2.8 gr Bullseye measured with an electronic scale (since it's a tiny amount of powder).

People always chuckle when you tell them you use a Lee Loader. But I made lots of great ammo with them in 6.5x55, 7.62x54r, and .303. Brass lasts forever since you're only neck sizing. I don't use them much anymore, but I still use the dippers.
