the BT contacts less of the neck than does straight tail. I know diameter should equal engagement. this is cut in half by a BT. jump is about 20. will accuracy suffer with less contact with the neck with BT bullets out to 600? this is for .308. - thanks

I've heard that flat base is better till 300 but after that bt takes over
But guns can do the opposite so like anything u got to check for yourself

The better BC of the boat-tail will make it perform better at longer ranges. As for precision, try 'em. Every rifle is different. I'm guessing you have a factory rifle based on the jump? I'd rather seat them deeper for more bearing surface inside the neck. What bullets and OAL?

Remington have a deep throat (lawyer designed it).

A 147 FMJ is not a precision bullet. Not made for accuracy. So jump will not matter. It will always be mediocre, at best.

Any HP or softpoint bullet will outperform it.

In a quality barrel, a BT will work ok. If less than perfect barrel, a FB bullet is better.

For cheap but accurate bullets, I use Hornady 150 gr and 165 gr.
