Has 81 been shipped out from China? I have been told it hasn't yet.

Unless the person who told you, was from TI, they are full of poop. TI made it clear that shipping was arranged back when production was finished and that the rifles would arrive in 6 to 8 weeks. That was only four weeks ago so no need for any kind of updates at this time.

All through this all kinds of people claimed to have all sorts of secret insider information that these rifles were not getting made, would never get made, etc. All of it turned out to be bovine excrement.

They announced that timeline on July 30th on FB, so it's been 7 weeks.

So unless they arrive next week, TI will have been late on this latest promise. Sadly. Though my fingers remain crossed.

So from what i see,the only thing that would prevent the bayonet to fit is if the factory didnt mill the cut on the bottom of the barrel to allow the little bayo tang to slide in. If that the case, just grinding that tang should solve the problem? I might get a bayo too, they sure look very nice.

Not quite , the bayo ring fall on the grove side on the outer barrel because it's an inch longer.

The barrel is an inch longer. Unless they moved the lug a half inch to two inches closer to the muzzle it won't fall off. The ring will sit were it does and there will be an extra inch or so of barrel over the blade portion.

They've been on Ebay from $32 -$150. Appear to all be same ones.
Do they fit? Nobody's sure yet.

I have not seen any as low as $32. If those did exist then they are now gone or they were unicorns. Cheapest one I saw was $100 and that was not Canadian. If anyone can point me in the right direction for the cheaper one. That would be great.

almost there! :)

Thats what I meant , the barrel is an inch longer so when the bayo is locked in place , the bayo ring lands on the lower grove , just missing the higher muzzle causing rattling.

I think putting some outer sleeve might fix that problem.

For the bayo mount, it will definitely not fit right or not at all. Look at the number of "rings" on the barrel and note the difference between the original and the Canadian versions:

Type 81 Trainer

Just by chance, I ended up on a web page that talked about a 4.5mm cal airgun based on the Type 81. Like its' big bro, it's made in China. Air gun appears to cycle via a side lever.

This would make for a much better companion to the Type 81 than the non-fitting bayo, IMHO. American forums seem to suggest these were selling for $30 - $50 US at around 2009-2010. Some guys say this air rifle is about 40 years old (?).

Presenting the "Xi Feng SX-B8" ;)
