The Coolest Looking SKS Ever

In my opinion the coolest looking ones are those that stay faithful to the original design. The farthest I like is a soviet optic mounted on them, but even at that, I'm pretty happy with how mine is right now and don't think it needs any modifications.

how to use a bayonet? always unscrew the muzzle break?
otherwise a nice rifle and optics is mounted correctly!!!
not any kwik rails, dust cover rails, scout mounts and other crap

The bayonet of the Yugo SKS hooks onto that ring you see before the muzzle brake. The Yugo SKS had a grenade launcher on it and many people remove it and put a brake on it instead. Doesn't effect the bayonet.

The Yugo M59/66 is the only SKS I wouldn't do a thing to it. I couldn't give a crap what someone does to a Russian or Chinese SKS.

I like it , and I'm an "as issued " hard ass most of the time . Tasteful .

My rifle goes back to 100% the way it was by just changing the stock back to the original, found a stock for $5 and cut it up

There's no way I'm spending a grand or two on a "better" platform that does the same thing when the sks is so good for so little moneys. If you can justify the expense, go for it.

1952 is already chromed, not worth scoping.
A 3 MOA red dot is probably the best you can do for it.
Scopes are marginally justifiable on a well broken in non chromed barrel only.

agree... there is no better platform for such money, especially... and even SKS costs 1000CaD... what's better? M+P AR15 for 700CaD?

Seriously though, stores should ask people what they plan on doing with their SKS.

If the answer is to Bubba it by cutting the stock or what not, they should be automatically denied the sale and redirected to the Remington section, lol!

Calibre magazine reviewed the type 81 last month. While they did like it, it was no more accurate than a sks.
