Here is a bullet cross section of that RWS E37 ammunition. I thought it was really interesting to see inside the round.

I wonder if that would be considered a semi AP round if the carbide end mill had a hard time. What is carbide of that grade 65 rockwell c? That stuff should penetrate mild plate with relative ease.
By the way....really neat to see that cross section.

I was more surprised to see that inner layer of copper. Anyone know why they would put it in there? Bros... believe me it does.

It could be just part of technological process.Maybe it was necessary for jackets to be copperplated before lead and steel insert were there?

That's my guess; copper plated inside and out; inner sub assembly inserted from the front end, then the whole thing swagged to shape.
