Question regarding quality of bosh&lomb vs bushnell elite 4200

As stated above, what are the differences between these two companies
The specific scopes i have
Bushnell elite 4200 2.5-10
Bosh&lomb 3-9

Other then general size and different magnification
they have the same power selection ring, eye piece and caps for elevation & windage

Are they the same quality or do they differ?

The 3-9 is on my 338wm and i am contemplating stepping it up to the 2.5-10

Thanks in advance

I was told years back that bushnell bought out bosh & lomb. and they became bushnell's elite series of scopes. if so. then quality should be about the same. likely made in the same factory even. I never did research to confirm this though. was just second hand info.

The series are comparable (ie Baush and Lomb 3000 became the Bushnell 3200). However, I don't believe the B+L scopes had the Rainguard coatings on the lens. The 6000 series came out only recently.

Correct. The 4200 will have Rainguard while the B&L Elite 3000/4000 will not. Once Bushnell changed the lineup to the 3200/4200 etc, they got the rainguard. The glass will be equivalent to the B&L 3000, 4000 series. All great scopes.

So after looking a bit more the B&L hasn't any numbers dictating a series anywhere obvious, but i got the model number off the bottom right by my rear scope mount and it turns out its an

Bausch & Lomb Elite 3000 Rifle Scope 30-3940M 3 x 9x 40mm Matte

Got to love google!
