Hey do you guys think this will work?

Or is it generally unlikely a x40 scope will fit in Talley lows? They may even be X Lows ? thatsa x33 scope on at present....... all research says, should work. just have to align the eye piece up with my eye an hope its beyond the bell of chamber.

I'm using Talley lows on my 84L Kimber with a VX3 3.5-10x40 with no issues. It's a perfect fit. My other 84L Kimber with Talley lows has a 3-10x42 Z3 Swaro and it is so close that a business card won't fit under it.

I was using extra lows with a vx2 3-9x40 with leupold flip ups - however that was on a Remington titanium which doesn't have any straight barrel shank.

If the rifle and scopes shown are yours, why not just measure the two objectives with a caliper and figure it out?

Yeah mate the calipers are up at the workshop and I arnt heading that way soon lol, I have my Young bloke for 2 weeks so I'm going to tinker with some guns anyway...

The Ocular on the Leuopold vx2, does slide along the Ocular on occaisons but has never got stuck or done much more than just slide up , the Burris has what seems to be similar sized at the Fat part but is larger over all than the luepold. I will indeed check this.

have 20 139gr H-il's on the Go which ill use just to sight and some shots on the 200-300 and even some 350-400!!

cant wait til I do play with this Setup

thanks

Its on, Juuust enough clearance with the Scope juust far forward enough to get a Full sight picture and clear the Chamber Bell.........

And Juust enough room for the Bolt, no worse than the Leupold, not much different to when the Burris was on a Tikka...

You have a lot of scope hanging in front of that ring. Turn it around for more support.
I get ya now,
It may seem a bit excessive in the photos, they do portray the real image lol, but I don't think its guna worry Me or the Scope with the Rings facing Backward, Sideward Rearward or so, I will however keep it in mind for when I do want to "Mess" with the Mounts.

I would have to look at the original photos from Original Owner, an see what he did........ perhaps the LGS turned the front around to accommodate the shot Leupold 2-7 ?

she sighted in hey.. larfing

It's a hair closer to the bell and handle than I'd like. Hard to see how close it is...maybe not a problem, but I can't tell.

True bum, proberly a little close for most! if u r 'hard' with the bolt close and throw, it will slide on the ocular bell, but it also did on the Leupold bell! and the Burris has a tell tale sign that it also did the same on a Tikka i believe!
it doesn't bind what so ever, not 'belting' the bell, just grazes it now an then!?

I'm willing to look past these points you guys have pointed out :D 'slong as she still shooten em out straight :D

some will remember this scope was also mouted onto a Ruger #1 in m77 rings, an u guys said it was not right due to different height rings.... still goin ok after a run on the Whelen for a good year and now the 7 ..... might of bent it back ha ha!

good points an thanks bro!
