I am interested in buying a 22 cal pistol and have always been a fan of 1911's. Has anyone had any experiences with the Browning 1911-22 or any other 1911 22 cal pistols I know it seems kind of sacrilegious to get a 1911 in anything but 45 ACP, but I thought it might be interesting.

The browning is only 85% the size of a real 1911, so if your looking for something smaller that's a good one, I have 2 in .22 and the .380, very fun and reliable guns to shoot, bit if your looking for something full size I would suggest a GSG

SIG has their own branded version of the GSG 1911 that looks very nice and is offered at an incredible price at the moment. Bullseye had it on for $309 last weekend boxed with 2 mags!

I found the Browning 1911-22 difficult to shoot accurately, due to the size. Probably great for someone with smaller hands, but not so good for those with big paws. It was hard to maintain a repeatable grip on the gun. That said, it is a beautiful little gun.

I remember I was getting a lot of burning powder lending on my arms when shooting the Browning. Which happens withy GSG too sometimes but it seemed much worse with the little 1911 I guess it's a long sleeve kind of gun lol

I run cci and it cycles everytime....I also put white on the front sight for better sight acquisition.....Its a well built gun but with the smaller size it takes some getting used too...but all in all I like it...

I'm 6'2, 210, and I don't mind that its small... its a great little pistol. I have a few converted prohibs and its almost as small... Guess I just like odd firearms.

I was curious about the SIG .22 too... price is nice.

My wife has one and loves it .. never has a stoppage seems to like all types of ammo! Reccommend one

when I had this, it was my favorite. I bought the original A1 and sold it with plans to get one with the upgraded sights.

only time it ever had failure for me was when I ran 1000 rounds non-stop. eventually the slide would start to grab and not close after ejecting the brass. this only happened because the oil burned off. I would just snap my wrist forward and it would close and fire again and again and again.

I have smaller hands, so the 85% frame was wonderful.
