Their LMT MWS to replace AUG - Look at all the gucci add -ons - Surefire Warcomp, QD M203.....even a cover for the ACOG! :d

They are going to be blinded by the Warcomp with that rail mounted NV. :d

I still love my MRP upper....I have tried a few different uppers over the years and keep going back to it.

Boltgun

There is nothing wrong with the MWS. The idea of switching barrel by the user is a bit of a no go at the end, but if you give the torque drivers to the weapos tech it is actually a very easily maintainable system. It doesn't need any funky barrel wrench and receiver block like other monolithic designs.

The main problem is LMT's commercial MSRP is quite high - 2400 USD for a 5.56, more than what a CC MRR is going for.

I LOVE my MARS-L lower. Though there are many fully ambi lowers now out there, I appreciate how theirs mirrors left side controls, rather than say the ADM or Radian designs. Locking the bolt back while keep your hand on the fire controls is a game changer, ergonomically.

Yeah LMT makes great stuff. Straight to the meat and potatoes Plus a little more. Great company and always serious manufacture. Chris Bartocci is real LMT fanboy(Author of "Black Rifle II" & Weapons consultant) I'm a fan of his despite some disagreements on various things.

I was in NZ on a joint exercise with the Kiwis this past March, and they brought out an example of this rifle. We all had been using their Steyr IW's, and had unanimously agreed that it had plenty of shortcomings; due in part to these rifles nearing the end of their service life. The non-magnified optic without a BDC reticle or elevation dial was the biggest gripe. Next would be the lack of a BHO device, and those crappy waffle mags. I was surprised they didn't just revise the AUG platform instead of going in this direction. They will have to modify their M203's now to be cross-compatible.
