What's on your "Do not sell until I'm dead" list?

I have sold too many "never sell" guns to believe that any are really never sell... I sold a couple since this thread started. I look at my collection as a whole to decide if the individuals make sense... with a few coming and going regularly, occasionally a "dear one" will become obsolete (for me) and will hit the road.

Cooey Hiawatha 22 single shot. Gun has been in the family for about 55 years. I remember purchasing it at the local hardware store and carrying it un cased down main street where my dad was parked in front of the pub. Cannot do that anymore. Sadly there is no one special to give it to when it is my turn to go:(

It was my Dad's Marlin 81DL but it's with my brother now as he has children and should have it.

I'm more attached to my Gen 3 PVS14 night vision monocular. That will never be sold.

Yeah I sold the savage 24 I said early in this thread I would never sell. Being as the Ithaca 300 I said as well was handed down by my dad it's the one I deffinatly wouldnt ever get rid of.

My savage 99e which was my first centre fire (and killed my first moose with it), my dads dads enfield, my moms dads cooey 75, my moms baikal 410 (both grandfathers and my mom are gone) and my old trusty 870 supermag just cause I bought it at 18 when it was hard to scrape up $400 and well everyone needs an 870.

Everything I own is on the do not sell list. I don't feel the need to own one of everything, but the things I do own, are higher end and would be hard to replace. Quality over quantity for me.

I'm not selling anything that I bought with my dad or that he really enjoyed shooting/hunting with. He's nearing the end of his fight with cancer and we've had a lot of fun over the years hunting, shooting, buying guns and I want to keep what's been amassed during that time.

Awesome, I can relate to this.

Unless a rifle is rare or has memories attached to it, there is no pressing need to retain it. If you let one go you can replace it with another "down the road."

My never sell list is pretty short;

Ruger M77-RS Carbine .358 Win
Browning BSS Sporter 20 gauge

I do have a few others that I am strongly disinclined to sell, but "never" is a long time. The rest may "come and go" as they please.

Agreed, my Cooey .22 and grabdfather's .30-30 are it. Everything else is just wood or composite and steel tools I may appreciate, but am not dependent on.

Not to be a bragging. I've been lucky on my purchases. Can't replace my pre 70'so Bar for the low price i paid. The Gevarm the same. My dad's M1 carbine plainsfield with a one digit serial number goes to kids if I'm lucky to have them or my casket...
