I recently acquired a rifle and was offered an almost full crate of romanian brass cased ammo. Headstamp is the following 22 over 69.

What do you guys know about it ?

Quality ?

Corrosive or not ?

Keep it or shoot it ? I have a couple crates of chinese copper washed corrosive so should I keep blasting thru these and keep the brass cased stuff for later ?

It's the Albanian stuff you have to avoid.

Best do as he says but don't throw all that waste in one place split it in half and we can both dispose of it safely.

Your sks is like the proverbial pig it can eat anything it just needs a good wash down after... assume everything out of a can or wood crate to be corrosive .

Gonna be using it in a VZ58 :p

So its surplus ammo, only brass cased instead of the typical steel cases

Wow that albanian stuff sure look rough

Yes it is surplus. Corrosive and berdan-primed. I've run a case through my sks with no issues whatsoever.
