Is lever arms 7.62x54 actually non corosive?

I don't see any crates of 54R on Lever's website, just the Chinese x39 they've been selling for years as "non-corrosive" in spite of it being pointed out to them, time and again, that it is anything but non-corrosive.

I didn't think there was any non corrosive x54 surplus ammo available?
I've heard that the x39 stuff they have is hit or miss as far as it being corrosive

Hi everyone. I've been pondering on the idea of buying a crate of the 7.62x54 that lever arms currently has. They advertise it as non corosive but in the past I have heard them of falsely advertising corrosive as non corosive? Has anyone bought this stuff that can confirm if it's corosive or not. Thanks

You're talking about 7.62x39mm. I've been using their ammo for nearly 2 years in my SKS's and Zastava M85. It's very good quality ammo regarding shooting. Pretty clean. I can guarantee that nothing happens if you leave your gun uncleaned for, say, up to 3 days after shooting that ammo. I always clean my firearms within max. three days after shooting so within a few days after shooting it is, indeed, non-corrosive. However, I don't know what's going to happen if you don't clean your gun for a week or so after shooting. Anyway, for me it's perfect ammo.

They do have the 7.62x39 which they claim is non corrosive but also have 7.62x54 on there as well which they too claim is non corosive

Stand corrected. Never seen that ammo before. Something new. Have no idea if it's, indeed, non-corrosive. The price is great though! However, if it's as good as their 7.62x39mm I'd be very tempted to buy. I already have a few thousands of corrosive 7.62x54Rmm for my two Mosins, so I don't need more now. Nevertheless, their x54R look very interesting. Perhaps someone would do some review?

No problem lol it's kinda hidden on their website. I'm kind of hoping someone who has bought this will chime in. Only reason I'm questioning it is because I've heard in the past that they've lied about ammo being non corosive when it actually is corrosive.

I also have used the non-corrosive 7.62x39 surplus from leverarms for about 2 years. I was skeptical but it is indeed non-corrosive.. even verified with the nail test.

I have some 880rd crates of PRC that is corrosive and recoils like a mule. .. I hope these fire somewhat less hot like the other 7.62x54r does with its "regular" smooth recoil.

If this is non corrosive then it's the cheapest volume of non corrosive 7.62x54r that I know about. Still you don't have to rush a quick inventory check on their site lists 419 units in stock, they won't sell out too fast. Sale?ever?

I wonder if this is the same 2011 production 180 grain machine gun ammo CanAm brought in a couple years ago... it was Chinese and came in 500 round tins but was sold as corrosive, even though it was made in 2011.

That's a good point I remember when they had that for sale? Do you remember if it was actually
Corosive or not?

I don't but I still have two crates of it. CanAm cleared it out for $200 / 1000 crate if I recall correctly. I may just have to test it out to see how corrosive it actually is....

It'd be nice to have some non-corrosive steel cased ammo for my SVT40. Cleaning that thing is a PITA compared to a Mosin so I usually just take a Mosin out. I wouldn't dare run my Lapua brass through the svt40 either!!! Lol!

They have 7.62x39 now that people have done the nail test with and it appears that it is non-corrosive. However, 4 years ago or so, they had what most people believed to be corrosive ammo that they called non-corrosive .... there are a few old threads on this.

I have no idea about the 7.62x54r ..... but people have trouble trusting them ever since.

If the price is good, clean as though it were corrosive and have at it.
