Sks Canadian tire debacle and a memo from a few years back

I was told today by a Canadian Tire owner this is currently temporary and all SKS's are in storage. Mrs Billes had put considerable pressure on the CEO to pull them from the shelves. The current "reasoning" is it is a used or refurb product and does not meet CT standards for sales.

Again this was told, may or may not be true in anyway but all franchise owners are hopeful because my store had over 50 in stock and they are on the hook for them until further notice.

Tell them to join CGN as a site sponsor and sell them on the EE

I spoke today with one of Canadian Tire's main suppliers of SKS's in Canada and he told me that in the email sent to him by the head of sporting goods, they no longer want SKS's because they claim they are too easily convertible to automatic.

I should talk to the store owner I know and find out what his stance on firearms is. I do know that he revamped the store to allow a missive hunting and fishing section.

I just spoke with the general manager at the local CanTire. He says that they are going to be shipped back to the suppliers! When I expressed doubt, he said that the suppliers "have to take them back, because they are too easy to convert to full-auto.

He doesn’t know his supplier that well. I wonder under what regulation they could be required to do so.?

This easily converted garbage is laughable and should not even be mentioned anywhere. Not that I don't believe it was said maybe, just that it's trash and we don't need to spread that crap around. The wrong anti hears that they'll be crying to the horsemen big time. Like wtf.

Haha, "If you discover any Russian SKS carbines capable of full automatic fire, immediately quarantine the firearm, " Like if its not in quarantine the full auto might be contagious.

We do that with defective parts too in aviation

lock them up in a quarantine cabinet so nobody can use them accidentally

Huntsville Ontario store has an empty cabinet where the Sks's were. Also the Huntsville Walmart has an almost bare ammo shelf with marked down prices.

Yea, at worst a restocking fee but doubt it, CTC sell a lot of rifles/shotguns and most come from NS. Cabelas or some other gun store will buy them there aren't many around so it will be no problem!

What does this bode for current SKS owners? Is this just an internal political decision by CTC management, or is the RCPM involved? Are we going to have to surrender our SKSs in the near future?

Funny how Corporate all of the sudden holds so much clout over franchisees.
They tried to tell stores that they had to stop selling black rifles and my local store just ignored them and over a year later they are still selling black NR rifles.
Some stores kneel and worship Corporate CT, others like my local one just roll their eyes, give em the finger and tell them to pound sand. The owner and GM there are great. They don't let Corporate push them around. Other stores, not so much...
