I had a pretty good look at one of these the other day. A yugo k98 preduzece 44. Laminate stock , Yugo crest intact , turned down (black colored) bolt , front sight hood and cleaning rod intact . It seemed to be scrubbed of all stick birds, etc. Bore had sharp rifling , but looked dark . Was a consignment gun at a gun shop.
It looked to be in proper configuration to me , but my knowledge of mausers is limited.
I do think it is an intact and proper k98 preduzece 44 , reworked from a German made gun.
I have a VZ24 , a Turk K. Kale , a spandau 71/84 , and a pair of Swedes .. a M96 and a M38 .
I know what I paid for all of these.
The yugo k98 preduzece 44 costs more.
Should it?
What would be a fair price for it on todays market ?
