What kinda trigger is required for AR15 lower to run 7.62 x 39 upper?

Will the default milspec trigger be good enough? How about those fancier drop in triggers? I mean to run it reliably so if default trigger will work I am ok but if I will need to replace it what would u suggest? Btw will just about any metal AR15 lower can handle a 7.62x39 upper? Anything else I need to take note?

Depending what upper/bolt your running, perhaps an enhanced x39 firing pin may be more of an issue than the trigger, for hard primers on surplus ammo (if that is what you'll be using). Windham has such a firing pin, check their website.

Hyperfire trigger might be an option. They have have a x39 specific spring combo for their triggers.

You may need a heavy hammer spring to reliably ignite surplus ammo.

I could see that being a good idea. I recently bought 2 NEA x39 uppers from SFRC during their sale and have a little over 1000 rounds through each of them. One of the lowers is a NEA and one a Norinco. No light strikes that I can recall yet, but that's only using one brand of ammo, too.

Firing pin protrusion and the seating depth/hardness of the primers plays into it as well.

Many of the aftermarket have reduced hammer spring so reliability on some ( including new production 7.62X39 ) is not great

The notable exception to this is the Geissele ( which uses full power springs ) . My uber light Geissle High Speed has no problem with my 7.62 x 39

As already mentioned get an enhanced firing pin , or machine the shoulder back of a mil spec pin to provide more protrusion

Attach 762x39 upper to AR15 lower, load proper ammo and shoot.

This is how it worked for me with a PSA 10.5" upper on a Norc CQ-A lower. I have had a couple failures to fire (out of a few hundred rounds shot) with the copper washed ChiCom ammo but I think those were duds because they all showed a solid strike on the primer. Any deeper and I would be worried about piercing primers instead.

This is a newB question I am sure, I do not have much experience with AR rifles, but what does one do about magazines in that case? I suppose that there are x39 magazines that fit into the lower or is an adapter necessary? I recently bought an AR in 5.56x45 NATO and would love the option of also shooting 7.62x39 ammo by simply buying an extra upper...

I bought a NEA15 lower from SFRC so I hope this is sufficient to run the 7.62 upper then? I think so since they do use these lower on their 7.62 NEA15 I think it is the exact same lower. These will feed the XCR-L 7.62 mags no prob right?

As far as I know it's the exact same lower, I haven't seen them list a "x39" lower anyway. I assume that whatever firing pin they use in the x39 BCG will work with the primers, or it has for me anyway. They feedtheXCR mags perfectly ( or at least do on my 2 rifles)

I took a look around and noticed NEA sells a 7.62x39 firing pin, presumably they use these in their uppers. I'll have to pick up a couple, as firing pins do break from time to time.
