Bino carrying options

Time will tell if u like them or not. If u don't you won't have lost much money

That's what I was thinking. They do exactly what I wanted (hold them close to my body so they can't swing around) and I wore them for a while yesterday and they seemed comfy and everything. They have a little inside pocket to hold a cleaning cloth and my vortex lens pen, but no outside pockets for a range finder or wind check. (although the pouch is deep enough to fit those under my binos if I wanted to do that. I don't have either product currently so....)

I checked WSS yesterday and all they had were just harnesses with no pouch, and 1 pouch option but it didn't have sides and my poro prism binos would have been too wide and exposed on the sides - not to mention it was $55 less 15%. I did pick up a vortex lens pen for like $10 down from 17.

Pouches are a pita in my opinion. Nice in theory but in practice they are difficult to get the bino,s in and out in a hurry, they get in the way, they collect sticks and twigs, if you take the bingos out of the pouch on a wet or snowy day you can’t put them back in or you will have fogging issues. Just a few of my experiences with the pouch vs the harness

You're the first person to mention that as a problem. Interesting. I should see some combination of those conditions in two weeks when we head out for our Moose hunt, so I guess I'll have to wait and see how it goes... I might take my next strap just in case (Although I could use the harness for the pouch as a neck strap in a pinch).

Anyone else find that bino pouches fog up your glass in bad weather?

Well from my experience over the past two years of owning my ACG bono harness I can say I have never , ever , had this as a problem. I'm on the coast of BC and hunt blacktail deer. 95% of the time it's hamemering rain and the ACG pack is soak through and through. My Swarovski have yet to fog up. I have never had a hard time to get them out. I never had it fill with branches as the lid closes over top and the lid has overlapping sides and I always use the bungy closure system. Our temperature is generally around 5 degrees C. When we hunt.

The only negative I can see with the harness you pictured is the lid opens on the chest side which may make it more difficult to get binos out. ACG harness opens facing out. Time and use will determine that quite quickly though. Let us know how it works out over the next few weeks as your bino pack is a very cost effective option for those who wanna give it a try. I also see you are from Port Moody so your weather will be exactly like mine as I live in Powell River.

I just googled that carrier and it looks good but a little bulky. Does it interfere at all with shouldering and/or firing your rifle?

Not one bit. I have the classic. The KISS model is even smaller. The Denali model looks huge. Take a look at the video link I posted in previous pages to see them all

It basically opens on the top, the whole front pulls away from your chest. The bungee is on the chest side though, which seems backwards (It would be easier if you can also use the bungee to pull them open, instead of having to release the bungee then grab the case). The top straps for the harness go to the binos, so when the bino's come out the pouch is only supported by the one strap around your chest - but the case weighs practically nothing so it doesn't try to fall down or anything.

Here is a handful of pics.
