Boycott North Sylva!
I was thinking of buying another product of theirs - T97 gen 2 but I couldn't comprehend how a Chinese made rifle with so so quality can retail for 1200-1250 CAD when one could by a pretty nice quality, made in America AR - M&P Sport 2 for 629 CAD at cabelas.ca last week.

We both know the answer to that. 39% standard NR tax on anything black colored from NS.

I posted this in NS forum yesterday, but since it got nuked i'll post it here as well.

We should boycott EVERY dealer that chooses to sell these rifles here. Not just for this rifle , but everything else they sell as well. If enough people do this, it will ensure that dealers won't order it from NS, and zero rifles will sell in Canada. This is the only way to teach clowns at M+M and NS a lesson. We should warn the dealers not to carry this product in advance.
Without doing this, the rifles will still sell (even for $2K), because not everyone follows CGN and M+M/NS will win

I disagree. Not a big market for a $2000 gun that is not really better than a VZ or t81.

Alot of people put faith that these were good rifles in IV888s review. Well with the whole NRA bump stock fiasco down south, its come out that IV takes payments for reviews, these arent typical T and E loaners, but actual payment for endorsements to the tune of around 5G per video, so that makes any of his recommendations suspect in my mind.

Lets keep it civil, please refrain from attacking other businesses on our forum.

I appreciate you being cordial towards other businesses CanAM, but as long as people don't use derogatory words, they have the right to free speech and venting their frustration. You can't say MM and NS are being civil by gouging Canadians and killing free speech in their forums.

There is enough market. XCR is selling just fine. People will still buy a NR black AK-ish rifle , even at that price. Sure, fewer people will buy it at $2k vs $1.5 K, but enough to make M+M happy considering the inflated profit margins.

People are forgetting how Vault pulled almost the exact same shlt with Kel-Tec, which resulted in ridiculously inflated Kel-Tec prices in Canada. Yet there is no shortage of people willing to buy Kel-Tec's at 175% of US prices.

We shall see. Their name is pretty synonymous with mud on the Canadian gun forums right now. Worst product launch ever.

I wonder how/when NS will try to re-launch this turd? Or if they will just turn up on dealer shelves quietly like an overpriced landmine?

They just nuked one I started

Busy morning for NS marketing department. I am glad people are standing up to this. Even at $1450 I wasn't going to buy it because I think if you don't care about NR you get a way better deal with ARs, but this price gouging is unacceptable. I hope people boycott North Sylva and they get out of business so we can have only businesses that care about their customers like CanAm.
