Would feed/extract issues be related to mag orientation and upper/lower fit and alignment? (please excuse my semi-auto ignorance)

edit...I guess it would also be about the gas system as well. I'm learning on the fly here...lol...please resume BCL102 discussions, I don't want to derail anything here.

Mag, to lower, upper, feed ramp, chamber alignment
Gas block, tube, gas key, bolt gas rings, cam pin.
Ejector, ejector spring, extractor, extractor spring.
Buffer spring, buffer tube, buffer.

Nice gun Hunter! If you're trying to lose some more weight, the Aeroprecision optic mounts are 3-4 oz lighter than that Vortex and it feels a few mm lower too.

The SLR rail is a thing of beauty :)
 
I may have to look into the lighter mount as well, thanks.

I put together a quick post with pictures in the general firearms discussion area, on how I attached the ranger plates to my mags for those who have been inquiring.

Looks to be a lot more issues,than being picky,with ammo.

Anyway,that's what I've seen reported on the numerous threads.

Check out Mystic precisions,forum.
He's doing some accuracy testing ,with the BCL... lots of good info there.
 
Shot mine out to 500m today with Norinco ball. Given the quality of the ammo and shooter I was very pleased with the number of hits.

Runs like a sewing machine.

Pretty much, nailed it.
Rack grade battle rifle with a rack grade trigger and barrel for a very reasonable price. Unfortunately they gave it a "match" chamber to help fool buyers into thinking they were getting a rifle that was going to shoot sub MOA groups. All this has done is make it finicky with ammo and the barrel still doesn't appear to be capable.
Other than that there has been at least one guy that needed a new bolt on their brand new rifle and quite a few guys that needed to replace their gas rings right from new. Other than that most guys seem pretty happy with their purchase if you consider wanting to change out everything other than the upper/lower receiver happy with their purchase, actually only a percentage of guys changing out as much as possible, the rest seem content to just shoot it as is.
 
I think the guys who are talking about how unreliable etc the rifle is should have to post if they actually have one or not. Like Stevo said above, mine runs like a 'sewing machine' as well. I'm sure I've put upwards of 500-600 rounds through it. It had a FTF once that I can recall, when my co-worker kind of limp wristed one and the stock slid off his body armour.

Otherwise it's clanging the 600 yard/(meter?) gong easily. Yup needs a new trigger, but works like a champ otherwise. Going off second/third hand information on these is silly. Track someone down and go shoot it. Travis Bickle has shot mine several times, you can take his word for it when he writes. If you buy one expecting a sniper rifle, you're out of luck. If you buy one expecting to put up groups that 4 out of your 5 holes the M305 will give you, then you're golden. I've shot big groups, I've shot 5 holes touching groups. I've shot 30 rounds rapid fire in 3-4 inches with a smoking hot barrel.

It's a 1700$ AR10, it's a dream rifle for a lot of us, but expecting it to be something it's not, and then complain about it, or complaining about it based on another person's review of it is just silly. You don't know what that person has done to it, if they've lubed it, if they're limp wristing the shots, if they've mucked something up taking it apart, etc etc. Yes I'm sure there will be some small issues, but let's all be realistic here. Even Colt Canada puts out some duds. ATRS put out some 5000$ comparables that have had issues.

The problem I see is that even though your rifle works great along with most of the others there have been too many reports of problems so far considering how few of these are actually in circulation. As I've said before, NEA/BCL has a chance to make a fresh start here with this rifle, it truly is what almost all black rifle enthusiasts have been waiting for and it came out at a great price. Considering the reputation they should be trying to avoid repeating I would have expected BCL to at least make sure all of the first batch rifles were thoroughly inspected and tested to make sure there was no bad press on the release of the new rifle but instead there have been a few guys with issues that should have been caught at QC before letting them through to the customer.
You're 100% correct, every manufacturer has let a dud slip through but when you hear about a Colt or a DD dud it's one out of a few thousand that is effected not one out of every 30 rifles, considering how few 102's are in customers hands so far I would have expected less issues. Even Jay's 102 that went to Jerry for testing needs new gas rings as it wouldn't cycle correctly even though the same loads cycled the other rifle without problems. So, since it seemed to be working fine for the first few hundred rounds he shot through it to have the gas rings gone already seems like some pretty rapid wear which is poor machining/finishing of the carrier causing accelerated wear, incorrect material chosen for the gas rings, or one of the above built out of spec. It's the inconsistency so far that has me worried about buying one, I'm not a lucky guy so I don't want to buy one then be one of the ones with a new rifle that needs work to get it to cycle correctly. Once BCL shows they have ironed out their manufacturing inconsistencies and 99.9% of the rifles coming out of the factory are good to go then I'll spend my money and add one to the collection but not before that.

Always consult your Gunsmith before making any of these changes. Now just waiting on my new barrel :)

Ordered some new stuff from Brownells for the NEA 102 I dont have...lol.. they have a 30$ off and free shipping on 300$ orders right now.

So I got the Brownells 308 bolt ( looks exactly like the Aero precision one but for less money )

Now all I have left to do is wait for the next batch to see what barrels fit.
